Yes, I'd be interested to hear if anyone knows about these too, I'm thinking of replacing my cheap Edwardes track frame.

I think the advent of these new companies marks the end for the original meaning of the FG revolution. Old Track frame sets, converted into street machines with a plethora of crazy old components. Quill stems, impossible Scooblebrick action and tight assed geometries. Now replaced with a rush of low quality, lowest common denominator tarckness. Of course the new kids don't know the difference. How would they? they just see a company with low prices and a bike that looks cool.
But we must stand strong. This forum may be the last place left on the internet that understands that fact (outside of Japan where Leader bikes are barely even known).

It's why I soon regretted finding/building a bike for a friend. He found dozens of murdered out hyper aero looking abominations then arbitrarily set a budget of £400. Found him a nice complete Pre-Cursa. Apparently too much. I gave up.

What was that then?

Well... I listed out the details in but the next sentence of my post. If you wish, I can copy/paste what I wrote. But that seems somewhat obtuse.
I understand how pathetic it may sound to hear someone say what I did, but it is the truth. If you don't believe me, go look at the reddit fixed gear section.

I there a difference? It's all just kids messing with bikes.

Aye, there is a different mate.
I appreciate the sudden Irish accident.

....
This place has turned into bikeradar if those are the entry requirements.
It used to be about who had the most ridiculous clown bike and who could crush the most pint glasses into their own head and make it home before bleeding out. Piss poor, 2/10.

Hate to break it to you but Leaders are actually pretty popular in Japan

I somewhat agree with the fyxation link however, I hands down (purely aesthetically) prefer cheesy aero tubing over regular, round tubing. In my opinion it has nothing to do with the "scene" but rather, personal preference.

Why not just order the same frame directly from Aliexpress. More options. Most track frames with that style geo for dirt cheap prices are from there anyway. Even many top brands do the same thing. So...
things to look for...
- Smooth welds - usually look nice but are a little weaker than ugly welds
- Alu frames - weight varies significantly from company to company
- Track ends and chain tensioners nice to have already built in on your frame set
- Geometry - look for bottom bracket height and fork width at headset
- Seat Tube type - try to stay away from Leader style "split and crack" seat post points
- Paint - whatever colour you choose realise that cheap-o frame sets develop paint chips quickly. Its quite common on Alu frame sets anyway. This should however be merely cosmetic. So maybe find a colour that is a little less obvious or be willing to repaint, or like most sticker bomb your bike to protect it from chipping.
- Don't expect the frame set to be as long term as a Steel frame set. I wouldn't expect it to be "safe" after a number of years especially bombing hills brakeless, DAWS or doing tricks.
- The more you look after how its treated the longer it will likely last.
Hope that helps before you buy a cheap chinese frame set either from Aliexpress directly or from a hipster LBS with a brand name sticker on the same exact frame set .

chain tensioners are a gimmick, once you know how to put your wheel on properly they become pointless. I'd expect an aluminium frame to rust less than a steel one...

I did indeed. Went for a Cordoba in the end and I think it's absolutely fantastic. Only negative is that the frame came with a turd of a seatpost clamp that didn't fit properly and snapped.

has anyone tried an aventon mataro low?

Any Mataro owners?
Share the experience
Noticed these frames a while ago being sold in BLB and they peaked my attention. The one I was semi interested in was the Mataro but now it appears they've released a super cheap Cordoba for a mere £155. Interested in knowing whether anyone has experience with the brand and/or any input into the matter.
