  • Witnessed this happen at about 8.50 this morning. Guy passed the inside of a car heading north on the A2 which turned onto Glengall Road, wiping him out (and her wing mirror in the process).

Got and shared all the details plus waited with him for the ambulance / police and and gave a statement.

It's hard to apportion blame for this one. I'm pretty sure (the sun was very low) she was indicating before he went down the inside but she should have looked before making the turn.

Both were obviously shook up. It looks like nothing was broken but he had a large swelling on his right hip (ooer). Oxygen and a trip to hospital for an x-ray.

    Heal up soon Steve....

  • We all were taught and told to ride on the inside no matter what, driver should have looked.

    Hope he'll recover.

  • pretty typical accident, nearly had one just like it yesterday, was approaching a crossroads where once in lane it states 'stay in lane' on the road and signs, I was inside middle of the lane, woman in a new audi decided she wanted to be where I was and launched it into side of me.
Hang got squashed between mirror + bar, but managed to stay upright. Not pushing a claim as I was quite happy with the gigantic 2' diameter 180 degree scrape I put in her door as a reminder to her to fricking look before making an illegal move.

  • That happened right in front of me, I was at the lights waiting to turn right onto OKR from Glengall Road. She was indicating but his positioning implies she really should have seen him. However I didn't see the couple of second before hand so I have no idea if he tried to squeeze up her inside before she turned or whether he had been level to the car coming up the road.

Felt bad for not helping but was already late for work and a swarm had pulled up around him from behind so he seemed in good hands.

  • Not one, but two forum witnesses. Hope nothing serious is found in the examination. Heal up soon, Steve.

  • No worse than bad bruising thankfully. He'll be on crutches for a week, at least, though.
