  • Very beautiful Master Olympic for sale. I bought this a few years ago and replaced the slightly knackered cassette and chain with NOS. Dura-ace. The bike also had an ahead stem with a quill converter. I replaced this with a new Nitto stem - which although not period, looks correct on the bike. It has been hardly ridden since then and basically sits in my sitting room looking pretty. It does, however, ride really well and I took it out for 70 miles around Kent yesterday and it rode beautifully and didn't feel much slower than my carbon monstrosity...

I'm very sad to be selling it, but my crabon frame cracked last week and I need some funds to replace the plastic fantastic. I ought to have spent a little longer cleaning it after the muddy lanes yesterday - so apologies for the imperfect pictures. The frame looks in remarkably good condition for its age. There is a very small patch of surface rust under the top tube where the brake cable enters and a couple of small chips to the paintwork here and there - which I've photographed. The chrome is very good, some slight pitting under the fork crown, but that's to be expected really.

The bike will not come with the tyres in the photo. I will put on some Rubino Pro that have done maybe 600 miles - plenty of life in them. I also ride with one of those odd looking Adamo saddles. This is also not included. I will put the original, very funky, embroidered Colnago saddle back on. The shimano pedals will be replaced with the original, period, red Look pedals (I will include cleats)

So, the groupset is full Dura-ace. It has open-pro rims laced to Dura-ace hubs, a dura-ace seat post, Nitto stem (9cm), 3ttt bars with a titanium finish.

    The frame has a 57.5cm top tube (c-c) and 57cm seat tube (c-c) 59cm (c-t).
I am 6' tall and it fits me perfectly. I think a couple of inches either side should be okay, but you're welcome to come and try in any event. I am based in Blackheath and am not very keen on the idea of posting the bike. Nor am I prepared to split at this point.

    Now £870

  • The bike will not come with the tyres in the photo

Where are the pics? Dying to see this!

  • Erm, Yes. I'm trying to upload them, but the technology is resistant. Will persevere...

  • Could do with seeing some pics too...
How'd you kill the Giant? :/

  • Ben text me your pics and ill bang em up if you like.

  • I'd recommend making a Photobucket profile and creating an album on there, then just posting the weblink on the ad. Could be useful for future postings if you're likely to create more ads!

  • Thanks for the advice, and the offer of help Reece! For some reason photobucket doesn't want to upload them - they maybe too large, so I'm shrinking them down and will try again.

Giant killed by snapped chain. I think it must've caught in the mech when it broke and cracked the seat tube where the mech attaches. I've just heard from Giant, who say that they won't replace under warrenty, so basically it's dead :-(

I may look into repairs, but I'm not sure whether it'll be worth it.

However, I've just ordered a Cannondale Supersix evo to replace it, so not all bad really...

The 'Nago was actually pretty awesome when I rode it yesterday. I wouldn't mind having it as my main bike, but I don't think it'd last long on a diet of Kent's finest Belgian toothpaste - I can tell that it pines for the white roads of Tuscany...

  • Ah that's a shame. I thought they had a generous crash replacement policy, so maybe tell them you smashed into something and you'll get one at cost? That'll teach you to put the power down, anyway. You should be more gentle in future.

I'm inclined to get something nice and steel to match what I'm building up for the gf, which was originally built to be a sort-of-match, late 90's style, for my look. n+1 dangers :/

  • In one of the pictures it looks like there is some rust on the chainstay near the derailleur. It's not. The frame protecting sticker has discoloured along its edge.

  • Look at it! Look!

  • Lovely, innit. Fancy flogging me the shifters? :P

  • Iz too lazy to split just yet, but you'll be first in line for those fine shifters if it comes to that Tom.

  • You shouldn't split it. Is a lovely bundle as it is.

  • This is tempting.

  • Just to say that I can't find the rubino tyres so this will now come with some barely used Michelin pro race 3 light. They are amazingly low weight and super grippy. Almost entirely puncture proof in the dry, not so much in the wet!

  • This is tempting.

    Do it.

  • You think the bank will grant me a loan for this ? :)

  • I envy the person who buys this. Definitely a bargain!

  • Any takers at a round grand? It's off to ebay if not...

  • I have just started on a bottle of red wine, so I may well PM you later.

  • Thanks for the interest folks - no dice here, so withdrawn and off to teh ebayz

  • Okay, so this went on eBay and sold for £870. I thought I'd get a bit more but there you are...

Anyway the guy bought it to do the eroica and didn't realise that the bike was too young, so has now decided not to buy the bike. Any interest here at that price?
