Battle scar, although mine is a lot worse

Very nice build, I think the red tyres work great (very hard to pull off!)
...please put a black dust-cap on the front

So this sort of just got put on hold for the last few months due to no funds and terrible weather. Using this now as my only bike, it had to take all of Brighton's horrendous February/March of weather. The rear Michelin pretty much just gave up on me, and I was running a horrid tractor black tyre on the rear for a little while.
So, 2x new Michelin Pro4 Service Course (with the red walls) on their way from Wiggle, and I followed Howard's advice on my boat anchor front end - 3T Funda Team carbon being picked up on the weekend. Should I get them painted silver, or leave them black/red?
Will get pictures up once I've something to show

...please put the dust-caps in the bin, what are you twelve?
ftfy
Lovely Saeco. I'd be tempted to go modern compact drops with this.

Dust cap long gone
I was thinking about compacts following change to -17 deg stem, will shorten stem by 10mm as I'll probably have the hoods a bit further down the drops

Might wanna go 31.8 on the stem, that way you get more bar choice. I'd go Thomson X2 & black Soma HWY Ones on this.

It's already 31.8, so yes I would be keeping it that way so I'm not forced to change both simultaneously

Love these frames.
Mine with compact drops, the forks are so damn heavy right?!
-
• #10
Of course you already commented on mine, duh.
-
• #11
Yeah I gotta show love to other Saeco bikes
Does your top tube slope a little bit on the 56 frame? This is a 58. My only reservation with compact drops is that I think they tend to suit sloping bikes more

Package just came from Wiggle, just tyres and tubes but an update nonetheless
This is gonna be a very slow-moving build. I don't have much in the way of bike-specific knowledge and I'm also a uni student, thus I'm restricted by £££

Picked these up from LMNH yesterday courtesy of Dammit. They're ridiculously light, waiting for LBS to be open on Tuesday to fit & cut steerer.
This is gonna need black brakes now, isn't it..
-
• #14
Nah - itll just need black bartape. The red accents on the fork'll look sweet.
-
• #15
Forks on and chopped the protruding part of the steerer above the stem. Feels much lighter on the front end (obviously). Looks wise, I was unsure at first but I quite like them
Excuse shit pictures, as I'm sure you can tell I'm not a photographer
The new Michelin Pro4's are great also, staggering grip especially in the wet

They are good, but they don't last very long. :(
Looking good though!

Quick question: if I buy a pair of yellow Mavic Zxelliums, do I have to zing around like shit off a stick to justify them?
They're sooooo rad but I can't help thinking the black pair would have many less onlookers instantly deciding I'm a cock as I ride by, especially if I'm just "mooching"

If you're going to wear cycling shoes, best to go the whole hog and engage full disco slipper mode I feel.
-
• #19
This was the response I was hoping for
Wish my mrs would stop telling me I'm gonna look like a bell fromage

• #20
love my zxelliums. no shame, ever

Alas:
Last night, I fucked up big time... went to overtake a bus to find one coming my way pronto. Tried to get round that one too but didn't make it, got sideswiped and I fucking felt it...
Fuck Friday 13th

Eurgh mate that is awful! I hope you're feeling okay, clearly the bike is fucked up but how are you feeling?
-
• #23
Ouch matey, get better soon!

Christ, did you land on wolverine?

Whoaa. Glad you're still standing man. Proper battle scars those!

This is my Cannondale. I had owned it for a few weeks before I came off quite severely, resulting in a shattered collarbone
Spent many hours cleaning and preparing it for being able to ride again, adding the saddle to replace the white one that came with it, and a slightly shorter stem as the reach was insane
Plans are to fit a 17 degree stem, slam it and cut the tube (got one of those engraved stem caps with integrated spacer coming from tester)
For the summer, 50 or 60mm crabon from China
Marmite paint on these, but it's my first road bike and I love everything about it at the moment
