Oh yeah and one of the bearing covers on the front wheel is cracked, which is lame, but doesn't affect it spinning etc

so rear hub is a screw on type, not a convenient modern or modern type like hyperglide?
-
• #10
Yeah it's a freewheel hub, not a cassette.
Although you can certainly get hyperglide
cassettesfreewheels for it, like the 11-28 one I have. The original one that is fitted is uniglide though. -

Clearing up my room, found the wheelset manual and spoke tool as well, totally forgot about these but they will be included.

I'm interested, any idea how I might convert it to 8/9/10 free hub?
-
• #13
Freewheel to freehub conversion doesn't exist as far as I know, you'd have to change the rear hub or get an 8 speed freewheel and respace the axle or something.
I don't think 8 speed freewheels are a good idea though, apparently theyre prone to bending the axle

that rear hub looks like a mavic 501 which should support 8 speed freewheels

If these are still about come the weekend i might be interestedActually don't worry, good luck with the sale!
£80 collected from Stratford, East London
Can post but priority given to those who can collect.
No dibs, first to pay online/in person gets them.
Both wheels bearings run smooth, front is true, rear is slightly out of true.
Front wheel has one slightly kinked spoke, but it still runs true, and when I found it I took it to condor cycles who advised me not to worry and just keep using it. You'd be hard pressed to notice if I didn't say, took me ages to see myself.
Original 7 speed freewheel and skewers included.
Will need new rimtape
(also have an 11-28 speed freewheel should you want it, very tough ratio to find for a 7 speed freewheel)
