This isn't a track bike just a road single speed conversion

Are you even sure it's a track bike? Looks like it might be a conversion to me.
Can you take close-ups of the rear drops, the underside of the bottom bracket, the bridge (the little bit above the rear wheel between the seat stays) and the fork crown.

Isnae a track bike chap.

Giveaways:
Drops are forward facing and look like standard dérailleur drops.
Forks have lots of rake, implying it might've been a touring bike.
The geometry is fairly relaxed. -

I hope the guy who sold it to you didn't label it as one and charge you "track" premium.

Guess it didn't start life as that then. Would it be ok to use on the track ? If not then just say and i'll get rid and find something else.
I picked it up pretty cheap so not too worried about that.

You can hire a bike at Herne Hill. It would be for the best.
I picked the below up over the weekend as i've been keen to get a track bike for a while after a few goes at Herne Hill last year.
I'm trying to figure out what it might have started life as, the chap i bought it from said he thought it might have been a Peugeot ? If anyone could shed any light it'd be great.
Not much to change i don't think. Turbo saddle on and probably some brown tape. Gumwall's rather than white walls. The white saddle and tape have already started to get dirty from the 8 mile ride home. Rides great though so it'll just be a case of getting it to the track.
