For Sale: Rauler Special Pista size 58 (columbus SL tubing)

This is a very rare frame made by one of Colnagos top framebuilders, who decided to build his own frames together with his brother.

ITA BB.

Needs 27.2 Seat post.

Chrome dropouts, chrome fork shoulders.

Toptube: 57cm c/c
Seat tube: 58cm c/c

Really nice condition. A few scratches. And a little spot of rust under the down tube (see picture). It´s nothing serious. No dents at all.

I realized, that it has been sitting in my appartment for more than a year now, because I think it´s to good to use. I hope, that someone else has more guts than me, and put it to use.

I bought at some point a set of fresh decals, which will go along with the frame.

E is the word and in italian
R is the initial word of his Brother name , RECLUS
the long name would be RAUL E RECLUS , Rauler .

They were good frame builders at the beggining of their career , and like a lot of good frame builders , they had collaboration with Colnago.
For them , the forward leap , had been when they took all the machines and tools from old Marastoni factory , from that moment their production became a very high range production.
I don't need fonts for what i say , everyone here (beetween Modena and Reggio Emilia) know that.

I was just blethering about my homeland traditions , and a part of that consists in frame builders and in general , mechanical workers , not mechanic.
It's not necessary to put the word COLNAGO to raise a bike's beauty and value.

It's said the rauler brothers developed the lugging seen on the colnago arabesque, which can be seen on some of their own models

Let me say that Colnago merely copied what Raul Gozzi did first.
If you mean that for "top contract with Colnago" well , it is.
Otherwise , what is said , it can be re-valuated :)
The Whole truth is that Rauler copied the logo from Colnago , many years before. Then Colnago
had a draw copying the flowering lugs.

Last thing
the real builder was Raul , that's why RAUL , and Reclus was a second figure , that's why R.

this statement states that the brothers worked with Colnago before setting up their own brand, which make it difficult/impossible for Colnago to plagiarise something before it existed, no?

the rauler firm started at the end of the '70's the site states
the Colnago arabesque was only in production between '83-84, so, if the Rauler "arabesque" pre dates ernesto's one, then it could be argued that Colnago are guilty of plagiarism, perhaps the brothers worked on Ernesto's ?

the rauler arabesque is dated at circa 83-84 here
i think a collaboration between the two brands on those models lugging is more likely

the rauler site also states the brothers supplied frames to "some amateur teams " with choice names like "smeg"

As i wrote before , Rauler became Rauler when they took all the work tools from Licinio , because he could not go on with work.
Give me time to meet Raul somewhere , on 20 May , Giro will pass and stop in my town , for sure i will meet someone during these days and i will report to you their reactions when i will say "ehi , but it's true that RAULER means Raul Ernesto??? " eheheheh
