try frank bowen auctions they seem to have a lot of old laptops going pretty cheap hard disc's removed though in most cases

I'm a regular there, laptops generally go for more than what you can pick up working ones for on ebay, it's madness. Cheers for the heads up tho.

oh ,...........
sorrythere were some new in box digital slr camera's ( nikon d700 / nikon d300 / nikon 14-24mm 2.8 ) recently that sold for as much as new ones in the shops with shop guarantee ... it seemed a bit crazy
and there is no come back to bowens either if there are faultsthe laptops were going at 40 - 100 i thought that was relatively cheap ... shows how much i know !
i wonder if there are some dodgy dealings going on there

I think a lot of people get over excited when they're bidding tbh, either that or as you said, something fishy going on. It seems that way, until you factor in the commission, the cost of a new hard drive, the chances it might be dead (friend got a "bargain" HP that turned out to be totally knackered) it just isn't worth it.
Funny enough, I bought the white trek hybrid at the last sale (I think the same one with the cameras you mentioned) went to collect it the next day, and someone had nicked it...it's a funny old place. -

Bump, especially in need of sata laptop hard drives.....
-

Bump again.....still after anything cheap/needing repairs. Also, thanks for all the offers, but there isn't really much to learn on a nearly new fully working laptop...only after older/non working/cheap ones!

Surely they get loads dumped at Leyton Mills recycling centre...where I said hello to you earlier today?

Get a few there every so often, not as many as you'd think, some of the bikes people get rid of defy belief....

we used to take those at the bicycle recyling place just behind there and fix them up for sale
I'm after any old laptops you may have lying around, working or not and in any condition. Will pay cash depending on condition and age and can collect in London. Just learning how to repair them as a hobby and figured it was worth asking on here.
