What are you using to get the locking off?
I've managed to get seemingly stuck lock rings off (eventually) with the hammer/chisel method. Destroyed the locking in the process though.

Was using one of the fixedgearlondon chainwhip/lockring tools, but the lockring won. Ive orderd a park tools hcw17 to replace it.
Did chiselling the lock ring damage the hub at all? Might give that a go.

Google says Loctite 243 is good at 360ºF (180ºC) so I think you might need more than one hairdryer...
Sooo.. I’ve got a steel lock-ring seized onto an aluminium hub. To make matters worse, there is some Loctite 243 on the thread (the only way to keep the lock-ring on those White Industries splined hubs).
I’ve read that heating the thread will help with both the seizing and the Loctite… anyone got any tips for heating a lock-ring without damaging the hubs or any suggestions?
Thanks.
