I bought this a couple of weeks ago, and had no intention of selling it. But, whilst at the LMNH jumble looking for a handlebar for this bike I managed to buy a new frame. so this is going to have to go.
I bought it for £210, which was a bargain, and now it's even more of a bargain as I've since changed the Suntour derailleur (which didn't index with the Shimano shifter) to a Shimano 600 one, replaced the front inner and outer brake cable (original was a bit too short - set up for a racing bike and all that), taken off the Vredenstein tyres and put on Continental Gatorskins which are are lighter and more comfortable, changed the inner tubes to lighter ones, and shortened the chain (it was too long). I think this allows me to add £10 to the price I paid for it.
The spec is:
Frame - seattube - 57 ctc, toptube - 56 ctc. Handmade in the Batavus factory in Heerenveen out of Columbus tubing. It is either Sl or Sp, there is no sticker, and I have a suspicion it's a SL/SP mix. Excellent quality, a few scratches and touched-up areas, rides really well. Has a hanger for a racing number. Campagnolo dropouts.
stem - 3ttt 80mm
handlebars - 3ttt Competizione Gimondi bend, 40 ctc. These have a neo pista bend and were used on the track back in the days.
brake levers - Shimano 105
brakes - Shimano 105 dual pivot
headset - Shimano 600
Seat - Selle Italia Turbo
Seatpost - SR 27.2
Shifters - Shimano 105 7 speed indexed
front derailleur - Shimano 600
rear derailleur - Shimano 600
chainset - Shimano 600
bottom bracket - Shimano 600
pedals - Look (not the ones in the photographs. I can give you a pair of plastic flats to ride home on if you wish)
front wheel - Suntour hub (smooth)
rear wheel - Shimano RX100 (smooth)
Not sure what the rims are but they seem decent quality. The front weighs the same as a Shimano 105 hub with Mavic Open 4CD rim. They are more grey than they look in the photographs.
cassette - Shimano 7 speed
tyres - Continental Gatorskin 25c. rear is virtually new, front is worn, but will last a while yet.
Everything works fine.. There is a tear in the bar tape.
£220
I'm in Leyton, east London next to the Central line Underground station, but can probably deliver to Hackney, Bow, Walthamstow etc.
Don't worry about formatting, just type in the text and we'll take care of making sense of it. We will auto-convert links, and if you put asterisks around words we will make them bold.
Tips:
Create headers by underlining text with ==== or ----
To *italicise* text put one asterisk each side of the word
To **bold** text put two asterisks each side of the word
Embed images by entering: ![](https://www.google.co.uk/images/srpr/logo4w.png) That's the hard one: exclamation, square brackets and then the URL to the image in brackets.
* Create lists by starting lines with asterisks
1. Create numbered lists by starting lines with a number and a dot
