• Hi guys,

Looking for 8speed casette and derailleur.

Ultegra or anything that will work with ultegra shifter, im not fussy.

    Thanks!

  • You'll be good with any 8 speed shimano stuff.

If you are on a budget, get a Shimano Sora 8sp cassette (£15) and a Sora derailleur (£12).

If you aren't, I've run a Shimano 105 5700 RD on an 8 speed set up before and that worked perfectly fine.

  • Thanks vince.

I am on a budget and will look into those options,

Anyone got something second hand that wilfit the bill?l

  • Not sure if it will be compatible as it was from a mtb but I have an 8spd 32-11t Shimano Hyperglide cassette, it doesn't look too worn but I'm not an expert on these things.

If it fits the bill I'll trade for something Magic

I am replacing an 8 speed cassette / chain for a road bike for a lady from work tonight. She says the gears 'jump' so I ordered a cassette and chain from CRC for her without looking at the bike / wear on the parts as they are cheap to buy new and I didn't fancy cleaning her bike to check (CSB).

You can have the old parts if you want, FOC.

Derailleur wise, loads of basic Tiagra 8/9sp on eBay going for circa £5 but at £13 new, you might as well buy new...

  • I've got a 12-23 (no lockring) that you can have for the price of postage, if you get a Gold Star.

Only used for a few months a couple of Summers ago.

It'll be Sora or Tiagra, nothing flash.

  • I've an Ultegra 600 tri colour, good nick all round £18 posted
