Players/teams to watch

  • Beavers v CMD was surprisingly good and got me thinking. IMO finals are usually rubbish - hacky, negative, aggressive... but what teams/players do you go out of your way to watch at tournaments, or streaming?

    UK
Gettin Wild are my favourite - Josh is amusing, they seem to surprise everyone, comeback kings...

Spring Break - stylish and open

Daverage - dunno, just like them, they're all so nice.

    Luca - creative skills.

    **International
**Whoever Marc Sich is playing with - he'll either do something spectacular or court controversy.

    Mo - that shot

Totally 'last year' but I'd like to know who is hot/going to be hot...

  • Oh and how can you start this thread without mentioning dodi?

Easily the most entertaining thing to happen to polo since I started playing.

  • Sebastian of Six Feet Under

  • Keep an eye on WRISTS next season. I heard two of them are in France training hard..

    pours another glass of wine

  • Pilgrims was one of the only team I really liked to watch at world ( but watched very few games seriously).
Don't know where Pierre delamare would play on this season but I hope he gonna find a good team who improve his play like the badger-Rupert passing game was.

  • Every goal I saw Bill Murray score was perfect. It was like sometimes they didn't want to score because the goal wouldn't look beautiful.

  • With 10 hours+ of excellent WHBPC finals viewing fading into the distance, I've somehow remembered to check out/analyse The Control in a more sober moment... there's something different happening there. Any polo video with Nick Kruse charging upfield will be worth watching of course - a finishing school masterclass every game. Kremin is a rock - subtle but highly influential, liberating the best out of his team. It was a delight to see The Pilgrims sticking to their cultured game - one pass too many had me bald by the end of the night! Honourable mention to Woollie Bullies/Erin - saw them/her play a wonderful game in earlier rounds. The biggest tip is that Chan should retire from competitive polo and be a european Machine... ;-)

  • Machine in America with a UK accent and Chan in the UK with an American one.

  • I thought Chan was Welsh...

  • Close enough.
