aawh yeaaaah, what are the further plans?

I was thinking of either Ultegra 6800 now or save up for a while for Campagnolo Super Record/ Dura ace 9000.

Ultegra 6800 will be really nice (worked with both 9000 and 6800 and besides the different finishes I couldn't find a lot of difference, 6800 is a really nice group. I'd also go for Shimano over Campagnolo, but that's just an opinion.
And wheels, more enve?
What are the frame details btw.

Very nice. Always fancied one of these myself. Is it bespoke to you or second hand? Either way looks lovely. A vote here for Campag so 1:1 at the moment :-)

I've rode this bike.

I prefer the old EDGE decals to the ENVE stuff, even though they look a bit like they were inspired by Goatse.

Ultegra 6800 certainly is more appealing now that they've changed the look of the chainset, it just looks a lot better. I've always been a Campag person, but maybe this is the chance to try something new.
If I went with Campag I have some Record hubs on DT swiss rims I could use. I've always wanted a pair of Mavic R-SYS SLRs so now might be the time if I went for Shimano!
What details did you want?

It's second hand to me, I wouldn't be able to afford a custom built one from Waterford. Luckily it's my size :D

If you are patient you can find good deals on 6800. I was considering it and PBK offered an extra 10% off everything for a weekend, which meant the full group could be had for £500.

I paid just under £600 from Merlin, I didn't know that PBK had it priced keenly.

CRC are doing an ok deal but I wanted 53/39 which is sold out.

PBK is at £557. Their extra 10% off was only for last weekend though. Still a good price I think.

Stick with Campag. I've tried all of the big 3 and whilst they're all good, Campag is a clear winner for me in terms of fit, form and function. The latest Shimano hood shapes do suit me better than the ones from a few years ago but even still they're nowhere close to any if the 11 or 10 speed options from Campag. All personal I realise, but if you're happy with Campag you might regret switching.
If you like Ksyriums, these would look good (and perform well) with your black and white theme:

Close up detail of the frame is beautiful btw. Looks in immaculate condition. Nice find.

Yeah good point about regretting switching. There is a Super Record chainset on here which is really tempting at a really good price. Campag hasn't really failed me at all, despite many people telling me that Shimano shifting is so much better.
Thanks for the suggestion on wheels, but (no offence intended), the white hubs don't really do it for me.

:-) Me neither. Performance wise, they're superb, but like you they don't please my eye. A vanity sale as I really should keep them and use them.
-
• #21
Lucky you. Beautiful frame and it looks like it's not been ridden.
-
• #22
Wowza. Nice one. I'd go for 6800/9000 too over campag.
-
• #23
I am very tempted with Ultegra 6800 right now, even though my heart wants Campag.
-
• #24
I'd say do it! 6800 and 9000 differ more in price than quality.

Any ideas on stem? I think I'd be hard pushed to find an edge branded stem, so should I just go with enve? Wouldn't be matching but seems like the only option.
Took delivery of this today.
