Well - value is subjective so what do you expect to get for your £1,900?
I have seen the Kinoko Nagasawa they did for bespoke bristol and it is epicly sweet. if you are into ornate lugs and great paintwork - then great.
Spending that kind of money on a custom frame, I would want to be a lot closer to the builder and discuss the design, tubing all the little details on a one to one basis and you are not going to get that with a Nagasawa. Lots of other examples of custom frame builders in current projects.
OTOH if a Nagasawa is the carrot you need to get down to 14 stone, then go for it.

Exactly that^
If you really want a Nagasawa and it's within your budget then go for it!

A steel bike will outlive you.
Dent it? Replace tube
Crack it? Replace tube
Chip all the paint? Re-paint it -

Cheers guys, that is a very good point about being nearer, very good indeed. Hmm, I need to rethink perhaps.

The big question I'd be asking myself is will I keep it for, say 10years? It's big money and if you sell it on in 3 years because you've had enough fixed gear then you'll never see most of that money again ..

No it'll be for at least 10 years if not life. I've ridden fixed upto having my elbow busted when I got knocked off. Should be able to start again next year I hope.

Just had a look on Bob Jackson site and with an 853 frame and forks with Paul dropouts and very similar lugwork to the Nag and bonus of chrome rear, it's about £1100 and less than 50 miles from my house...promising.
So I'm thinking of treating myself some time this year to a new fixed gear. I had settled on a Surly Roller as I wanted winter tyres. That issue is sorted by a croix de fer.
So if I get down to 14 stones (i's not little) I fancy a piece of history before he packs up shop for new orders and the frames are stunning. Are they worth the £1900 or is there a British equivalent? Would it last me 10 years of summer riding?
