• Hi all,

As part of my final year sports science degree project I'm conducting a Sprint Power Research Study, using the famous Wingate Test performed on two different ergometers.
We are currently recruiting participants. If you are or know someone who might be interested in taking part please contact me on the email provided bellow:

The University of Greenwich is conducting a research study investigating the Wingate Test performed on two different ergometers the standard Monark Peak Bike and the new innovative Cyclus-2.

Here some more details about the organisation and the purpose of the study. This should give participants a fairly good idea about their commitment:

It is part of a Sports Science, BSc Hons project (Suami Rocha and Mattia Tedesco; University of Greenwich). The main objectives are
    a) to compare peak power performances on both ergometers among trained cyclists and
    b) to compare trained cyclists vs the physically active's results performing the same tests.

The required tests are as follows:
During each visit participants will be tested in one of the two ergometers
Test I = Laboratory Wingate Test (max 1.5h)
Test II = Laboratory Wingate Test (max 1.5h)

Durations are provided in terms of time commitment – not testing durations. Participants will perform one of the tests on their personal racing bikes. Testing will be performed at the Physiology Laboratory at the University of Greenwich, Medway Campus, Centre for Sports Science and Human Performance, ME4 4TB.

When? We will make every attempt to fit the testing around the availability of each participant. This includes evenings.

What is in it for the participants? You will receive individual feedback about your results for all tests. Yourself and/or your coach can use these results for training purposes.

The way to proceed is to write to Suami Rocha (ss161@greenwich.ac.uk). Testing can start at the first visit, which will also be used to answer any open questions and screen participants. More detailed information about the study content but also individual feedback will be provided during each visit.

If you have any questions, please contact us on the telephone number or email addresses

    Thanks for reading

  • Hi,

you might want to get in touch with San Fairy Ann CC. Most of them are based in or around maidstone so it would be a lot easier for them to attend.

Thanks for that mate, we've had quite a few San Fairy Ann cyclists in already :)
