  • This is an exhibition/introduction to bike polo as part of the Westway Urban Edge Festival as detailed here: https://www.facebook.com/westwayurbanedgefestival

We will have the courts from 1 to 5 of in pretty much the same arrangement as the Prudential RideLondon arrangement, i.e. 30 minutes sessions of tryout and an exhibition game or two and throw ins when the court is free.

This is the current volunteer list:

        1 Ben (punkture)

    2 Ben (Beagle)
    3 Paul thedutch
    4 Apollo - definitely
    5 Antonio
    6 Louis

We could use more volunteers as quite a few would still be in Florida, so who's up for this? Everyone and anyone welcomed! Loaner bikes and mallets provided.

There is a rock climbing session at 10 am and free running session at 11.

There will also be a speaker/short film screening event at the Portobello Pop-Up later in the day. Bit more details as below:

    Full details here: http://urbanedgefestival2013.sched.org/

The Portobello Pop-Up is constructed out of reclaimed materials and sited under one of London's biggest roads. It's an appropriate and inspiring venue for an evening of film and words from some luminaries of creative play in the city.

Sebastian Foucan will be talking about his path into Freerunning: what it means for him, how he found his way and how this fringe sport has become one of the hottest alternative sports around.

Neil Gresham is one of the UK's best known climbers who yearly pushes the grade boundaries for new routes. He remains a London based climber and trains for his projects at the Westway whilst also running the Masterclass Coaching Academy for training climbing coaches.
He will be talking about the Triple Crown; 3 contrasting climbs completed in one day including a waterfall ice climb which collapsed shortly after he had completed it.
He will be offering some reflections on how being a London climber has shaped his experience of being a performance athlete specialising in a sport which although usually associated with the great outdoors.

Bradley Garrett is an urban explorer, photographer and Oxford academic who has achieved a degree of notoriety for his photos from unusual vantage points such as the Shard. His new book *Explore Everything *has been acclaimed for its stunnign photography and for provoking discussions about how we experience our cities. We will be screenign Crack the Surface II a film about hidden and unused urban spaces and Brad will be talking about what is important about this unusual activity.

Bike Minded run an annual film short film competition for the encouragement of cycling in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. We are proud to present the 8 winning entries for this years competition and hope they will inspire you to roll on.
