Nice, my size too.
Yet sadly I'm downsizing on the bike front so GLWS and I hope it goes to a good home.

Could well be interested in the wheels though, price dependant.

work in spitalfields, i will be taking it to work tomorrow to strip it and it will stay there until sold most likely. im there until 7:30 tomorrow if you want to come and check it out?
-
• #11
do you know the weight of the frame alone?
-
• #12
not off the top of my head but i would imagine about 1550/1650g which is kind of average for a frame of this size and year. ill weigh it up tomorrow when its stripped.

Certainly, feels a bit odd to discuss in thread, however I'm still in nursery and can not pm yet. But the shipping cost is probably bearable. Any estimation? 50? 100?
-
• #22
i imagine shipping would be about £30-50 judging by things ive sent abroad in the past.
if you want to email me direct it's

Why, WHY?! Don't sell it fred...you'll regret it..
SOLD!
hello all, it is with a heavy heart i have decided to sell my beautiful Somec Elite SX road frame. i know that i will regret selling this frame as it is by far my favourite frame ive ever owned and im certain the chance to own one wont come around again, but i need money more than this beautiful italian stallion. the frame is made from Columbus SPX tubing which is the slightly thicker version of SLX designed for larger frames to increase stiffness. i have dated the frame to 92/93, it has internal cable routing for the rear brake (which is routed inside so no fishing) and fastback seat stays (according to somec one of their own innovations they came up with in the 70's). Cinelli lugs through out and a Cinelli aero BB shell which routes the gear cables as well. 130mm rear spacing over all the quality of the frame is impeccable, the paint job easily one of the best i have ever seen from this legendary manufacturer, and countless times while riding this i have looked down at the frame and thought to myself what an incredible bike it is. it rides like a dream. overall the paint is in OK nick, there is a big scratch on the top tube and a few paint chips here and there, but no dents dings or any damage other than cosmetic.
the size is 57.5cm C2C top tube and 60cm C2T seat tube with a 17cm head tube. I'm 195 cm (6'4" and a bit) and with a 120mm stem and a 330mm seat pin this is spot on, i know you all know how to size yourselves up and obviously you can set up bikes differently depending on your own body dimensions, but as a general rule this is a bike for those 6' and up.
the frame comes with the stock Somec Chrome 1" threaded fork and a genetic headset, i will also include the very nice Fred Salmon Racing seat pin which is 26.8mm and 330mm long
for just the frame forks post and origional fork i am after a very reasonable £300 (im sure we've all seen them go for well over 500 on Ebin)
the Easton fork and CK headset NOW SOLD
right down to the good stuff!
in its current guise with easton fork and CK headset
