• The UK's first purpose built permanent polo court is now built!

We'll be painting the court over the next couple of days then installing nets in the coming weeks...

Watch this space to find out when you can come down and play!

At every session attended we need to pay towards Herne Hill for allowing us use of the space, their upkeep and maintenance costs, insurance, etc.

There will not be an LHBPA courts officer present at every session. If we intend to keep use of this awesome court, someone must take it upon themselves at each session to gather subs (£2.50 per player) and record attendance.

If you don't do the former you're just being mean to London's oldest cycling venue.
If you don't do the latter you're potentially cheating yourself out of an awesome court to play on.

It's super simple to fill out the form, there are only 3 questions:

    http://tinyurl.com/hh-subs

  • Awsome eee

  • Amaaaaazing.

  • dat surface

  • Awesome.

  • Super awesome.
Plz draw a dragon on the boards TS.

  • Not bad. Needs a roof and heating.

  • DragonDome is such an awesome name.

    Opening tourney anyone?

  • "Game of thow-in's"

Got to be the best tourney name I have heard yet, please lets do this :)

  • Hmm is the rain proof paint green? Just need a black sharpie to draw the head and some scale patterns? :)

  • Nice

  • Joe, have you got any pictures or the court with the beginnings of the paint job? Was looking good when I left.

We could really do with more hands to help finish painting, if anyone can find a few spare hours here and there. The Velodrome is open pretty late (around 8) most nights, so even just a small bit after work this week would help. Take a night off from polo and help get the Best Court In London (tm) in full playing condition, it's gonna be awesome.

  • I wont finish work til then, sorry.

  • I could probably come down after work and do some painting on Wednesday eve.

Does anyone have any info about the court like usage or access agreed? Whens the deadline to finish the work and when can we start playing? What else needs doing? Sorry out the loop.

  • apparently if we solve the problem of getting net to protect the track from balls going out of the court we can start playing every day all day

  • Woah thats awesome

  • What Tony said... Let's make this happen, peoplez...

  • Thanks Joe for being a superstar!

  • Does anyone have any info about the court like usage or access agreed?

It was somewhat discussed in the meeting and can be found in the minutes, here you go:

    • Tuesday/Thursday/Sunday sessions currently being talked about.
    • Joe to ask if we can store LHBPA stuff on-site.
    • £2.50 per person per session.
    • Need to leverage getting new players from the track regulars.
  • Sweet so if I comes down tonight after workee. After six will there be anyone else to direct me to paint stuff?

  • Can also come down after work if needed (ETA 6:45)?

  • Sweet so if I comes down tonight after workee. After six will there be anyone else to direct me to paint stuff?

    yes.

  • Does anyone have any info about the court like usage or access agreed? Whens the deadline to finish the work and when can we start playing? What else needs doing? Sorry out the loop.

Another important question is, where's the nearest offy and can we drink cans court side?

    :)

  • (a) quite a way and (b) HH has a no-alcohol policy within the track. Straight-edge polo FTW.

(Court builders get a pass if they're subtle ;)

  • Are the floodlights on the track enough to light up the court ?
