Upgrades...

  • I currently have a fixed gear that I built from scratch. it started life as a BLB low-pro frame, which I stripped and re-sprayed a temporary matt black. It has Nitto stem, bars, and seat post. BLB Fly-ex seat, BLB crank set, and a set of nothing wheels...

Can any of you fine gentlemen recommend me a few upgrades that wont break the bank...

More so for the wheels and the crank set, but anything you feel you want to add will be most appreciated...

    The bike in question...

    peace...

  • Have a look at the Halo Aerotrack wheelset. Pretty tough and fairly light. Not going to break the bank for a pair either.

  • cheers...

  • Get a nice set of tyres (assuming you're not skidding like a mental everyday), they're the bits that touch the road and would make a difference to how it feels.

Otherwise, keep your eyes peeled on ebay for a nice set of clincher track wheels, Campag pista sets come up cheap every now and then

  • Any recommendation on tires Tim...?

  • I have had good experiences with Vittoria rubino pro tyres, they seem a good all rounder. I also really like schwable ultremo zx. Or if you need more puncture protection maybe folding gatorskins? It really depends what you are using the bike for, where you ride it etc.

  • I'm quite liking the GP4000s I've got on my road bike at the moment, shop around and you can usually get a pair for about 55quid

  • Just don't skid 'em

  • Cheers chaps...
