Wanted: Black Straight 1 1/18" drilled forks

  • I am looking for a pair of 1 1/18" black drilled forks to replace my 1" alpinas.

The steerer has to be about 220mm - 250mm.
    Preferable rake - 30mm-40mm.
    Carbon/Alu I'm fine with either.
    Preferably straight blade.

    Thanks for looking Michael.

  • Why do you want 1 1/8th inch to replace 1 inch?

  • Why do you want 1 1/8th inch to replace 1 inch?
I may (probably) wrong, but aren't 1 inch track forks a lot more rare than 1 1/18's? If there are some 1 inch forks that do meet my criteria then that would be perf.

  • Well no they won't, as they won't fit in your frame.

The measurement refers to the diameter of the steerer tube, so unless you've got an inverse shim handy, you need 1" forks.

Alpina forks are drillable, they are actually predrilled then filled... so you could just do that if you're wanting a brake and steer clear of this potential mine field of measurements.

  • Ah, okay. Its just because the forks came with a shim so I assumed that the head tube could also take 1 1/18". I have been to numerous bike shops and none have accepted to drill them due to different reasons. I'll get into touch with a local builder around my area to see if they can drill it with a pillar drill.

    Cheers for the tip TM.
