  • Hi bought this frame from here with a view to making a lightweight fixed gear to add to the collection.

    In its current form:

  • Good luck with this. Sure it'll be fun.

  • ^Seconded. Keep us updated for sure. Gotta love conversions, always handy for p^$£"ssing off the road/track bike purists ;)

What are your plans for the whole, are you building it up as it is, are you touching up the paint etc...?

  • Looks good, conversions can be ace (if done well). Lovely frameset, nice start.

  • Thanks guys, I will be changing the colourway for a nice metallic dark blue close to the French blue. I have all the decals already so just waiting till i have the cash to get the paintjob and decals all done in one go. I have polished up the handlebars and stem but may need to go over again with the wetndry. I am trying to keep everything campy and have a seatpost that needs polishing too. Looking at some C Record cranks and need a front caliper of the C or S record ilk.

Want it to be lightweight and fun and just have some great personality about it yet stay simple and keep its original character.

  • I notice most fixed bike conversions seem to have old skool pedals too. Would it be a sin if I put spd pedals on it? Or is there a practical reasoning behind it?

I'd say it shouldn't matter, it's your project after all. Pedals really depend on what you're comfortable with anyway, if you always use and prefer clipless (I know I do...) then they'll be suited to you on the Le Juene. Older parts do look great with the older frames but, again, it would depend on if you were wanting to side with form over function.

  • Perfect, one less thing to worry about!

  • i like RED Lejeune.
    But ...
I am looking forward to the completion of the French blue.
    Good luck.
