I'd like those wheels please.
-
• #5
You can have em but thought you were strictly shimano?

Much talk humming along the Interpipes that 11 speed Di2 will happily run on a Campag cassette.
EDIT I had Force before and really liked it, Apex I hated though- front shift drove me nuts.
I had a Klein Quantum (briefly, too large for me) which had 10 speed Record, I liked it overall- very agricultural, but you knew it had shifted, not a huge fan of the hoods though- felt like there was a sharp ridge under the hood.

Ah yes i have heard that too but ive also heard ppl claim that sram 10s cassettes works with campy 10 no problems. I beg to differ.. But if you want em the record hubs will gladly accept an 11s campy cassette.
Record 10 still my fav, much prefer it to the sr 11. But this is an early sr group so it has a less distinct feel in the levers which is what im not crazy about. Later models feel bit more campy

To be honest I was talking about the Lightweights, in a joking "you'll never sell these" way.
The IF frame looks fantastic- forgive my ignorance but what is the tubeset?
-
• #9
Aha :) well i like those wheels and its the only tubulars i currently own. But you never know. Got em for a song (do you say that? if so why ?)
Good question. I dont know the tubeset on this particular frame but one can find out. I know they use a mix of reynolds, columbus and true temper depending on weight and wishes and what not. Rides absolutely great! Feel remarkable light and snappy when riding. Not so much when lifting it since the fork weighs ALOT!

A song is something which doesn't really have a price- if you sing it, that is.
It's also not that onerous- unlike chopping wood for four hours, for example.
So if you got something for a song it was roughly equivalent to 3 minutes of pleasant effort that didn't really cost you anything.
I want a Klein again now.

my ex had most of the things in our relationship for a fucking song then, 3 minutes bit included
-
• #12
Ah thanks for explanation.
Theres was a klein for sale locally in our size not that long ago. In a nice color to but cant recall what atm.
Edit: here you go
-
• #13
Yep, that has confirmed that I'd still like one.
This was briefly mine, until I had to admit that a 59 square was just too large:

Oh damn thats a nice looking bike!

Oversize headset on the IF I'm guessing?
-
• #18
Cant believe ppl think nude carbon is hot when there use to be so many nice painted bikes out there.
-
• #19
It's a bit harder to put a bike together when there are strong colours involved and have it look coherent - flat black/blackboard paint makes it quite easy, just stay away from any colour at all.
-
• #20
But building your bike is suppose to take weeks of planning and vivid dreams and or nightmares about what colors to pick. Thats the fun part :)
edit: Come to think of it i usually go for grey bikes so i guess im full of bs. i just dont like carbon i know that much :)

Youth of today, want everything yesterday- all good bikes should take a minimum of a year to put together.
I keep telling myself that, anyway.
EDIT I'm painting my stainless steel bike orange.
-
• #22
hehehehe
Yeah i know. Power to you! I like orange a lot and steel should be painted.
Edit: Yes 11/8 headtube on the IF. Its a 2011 bike with like 200 miles on it or similar.
