Audax is just long(ish) untimed rides, you can use pretty much any bike that is capable of doing this in comfort.
This means even a stripped down touring bike could suit but maybe look for 531 Competition frames as a lot of them tended to have eyelets front & rear (I have a full bike in this but is prob a smidge big for you)Also there are some very good ally frames with Carbon forks that can equally do the job (I commuted/audaxed & toured on a Ridgeback Genesis Day 02 that could take a 20kg load yet was at ease doing 45mph downhill and could turn on a sixpence.
My first serious bike was a Raleigh Record sprint with Reynolds 501 tubing, I bought it to tour around France, I also commuted to work for 5 years, rode it at the weekend up & down dale & was the best fitting off the shelf bike I ever had. It was 24lb IIRC
To be honest 'quick' is always about the stoker, the differential between something that is light but isn't really comfy over longer distances to one that is a bit heavier but can do the job properly and in comfort is relatively small.
What I'm saying is don't get sucked into the 'lighter is quicker/better' thing over something that actually suits your needs more overall.
This is why many cyclists have lots of bikes for all occasions...present company excepted..lol

Thank you, you're right on the money with that response.
I guess a touring/racing/any frame in 531 competition with front and back eyelets is what I'm after. I had a look at more specific modern touring frames, but just love the look of old touring/racing frames.

Hi there I have a nice Bianchi race bike - full Campag parts which I am thinking of selling. Could post you some pics if you like. Need to check the size though, think it may be 57-58cms.

Hi, looking for 56 tops, and it would need to come with eyelets for racks. If it is/does, let me know.
Thanks for replying.
Hi,
Am after the above. Would like a frame I can do light touring on (and attach a back rack) but also fairly quick when it hasn't got anything attached. I assume from my limited research this is an Audax frame, but if I'm wrong please let me know. My budget is 100-150. Not bothered about cosmetic condition, but do not want any major rust or dents. If you've got something that sounds like it could suit me please let me know.
Also - I am in no major rush for this, as it's a planned build for some rides next summer.
One more thing, I ride a 54 square track bike, but assumed I would be better off with a slightly larger frame to suit a more relaxed position.
Anyway, if you've read this far, thanks for reading and let me know if you've got a frame, or even any advice.
Thanks
Jack
