  • my understanding is that you can't post items on ebay and on here, so maybe you need to remove them? (i'm basing this on the ebay photo links you've included, apologies if it's not actually posted there)

  • Think that holds less true for OT items(?) - and looking at them they all look like stock images, so I'd guess the seller is using them to show what the equivalent item looks like?

  • prov dibs on "Nikon Nikkor AF 75-300mm f4.5-5.6 - £80"

can you confirm it does auto focus?

  • That's a damned good price for a D700. The only camera I want, that I can't afford. Good luck with the sale.

  • doca+branwen: stock images that happen to be from ebay.
    they're only on sale here.

    tomder: yep it does autofocus.

' This is an unusually well made, well performing lens available today for a bargain price. '

    Chak - Thanks v much

  • sorry, undibs - just read that the AF is not supported in D5000/3000 and some others ...

  • ok thanks for letting me know.
    FYI: http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/compatibility-lens.htm#dslr

Manual focus lenses are preferred in the video world.

  • I have no idea how to read that to be frank. thanks for the link Ill check my camera model and check that chart ...

  • the lens name has an AF in it. so look along the top of the chart for AF.
Look down the column and see that AF (autofocus) function is compatible for cameras except D5200, D5100, D5000, D3200, D3100, D3000, D60, D40, D40x

  • sadly I think mine is D3100 or D5100 or something along these lines ...

  • Really interested in 50mm...let me know a bit more...hardly used¿?¿?¿

  • I have great stories about 50mm lenses.
I used to have the 50mm 1.8, and the first thing I snapped with that was kevin spacey who rocked up at a student house party years ago.
Then I went interailing with it and my Nikon D80. I got smashed one night in Zagreb on absinth with a singaporian girl, decided to stay up and sober up as my train was in a few hours.
Failed. Fell asleep. Woke with 10mins before the train left – bolted to the station only to realise that the 50mm had rolled out of my bag in the hostel, and now broken AF, in the hands of the singaporian.
At least I made the train.

That was Dec 2010. Bought a D700 in 2011 – and the 50mm 1.4mm from Stanley street (aka. Photographer’s street) in Hong Kong, on the way to my bro’s wedding. Second hand, but serviced before sale. The focus ring is smooth and feels new. IQ is great - Wonderfully sharp in focus with creamy bokeh.
Treated well, and not used nearly as much as my 50mm 1.8, mainly because I started getting into architectural photography, and away from street / portraiture.

I’m helping the gf move house this w/e, but should be able to post some pics of the lens on Sunday afternoon / evening.
