Caliper for a lever without a spring

Posted on
  • So, I bought a new lever (the BLB CNC'd one) without considering the fact whether there is a spring inside the actual lever (which I realised after the purchase, putting the lever on and realising that it doesn't spring back). I don't want to get rid of the lever and would much rather get a new caliper altogether. Could anybody point out a caliper that would fit my lever (prefarably the lower range Tektro as these seem to be widely available and are pretty cheap)?

  • Pretty much any dual pivot brake relies on springs to work.

  • Thanks, will go to my LBS tomorrow to see what they've got in stock

  • Went to LBS, nothing wrong with the caliper. The lever just needed a bit of greasing up and a washer to avoid it from clamping so hard. Works like a charm now.
