Not really, I do have some Halo wheels sitting on a bike I'm not riding atm which I could switch over. Unfortunately they are purple, and I'm not sure if I want to go for a 2007 nu-rave colour scheme

Arf. No, I'm short. The seat tube is 48.5 and the top tube is 51.5.

There were some black sugino 75s on classifieds this weekend if you want to get serious on track and look badass while doing so.
It's all about bumblebee innit?

Although with the white fades and graphics, all silver components would probably suit it better ad be easier to find and probably be cheaper.

Shame she missed out on those DA 7600 cranks for £90 the other day...
-
• #13
That would require a new BB though. T-V has silver 75s for sale in classifieds now.

Is bike talk boring you yet Scoot?
-
• #15
No because it's for my bike so I'm excited!
I'm kind of poor now though...the thought of spending more money is making me wince

Why?
7600 is square taper just like 75. -

I also think I'm going to have to get the forks drilled, as much as it's a shame I really don't want to ride brakeless
The other option is leaving it at the track and only riding it on there but that's no fun

^^ I was thinking of the wrong DA cranks!
^ Clamp on brake or HTFU!
-
• #19
If you must have a brake then a clamp on could save you from drilling.

I've just been offered a clamp on brake via a post on instagram, and accepted
This bike building business it pretty intense! I don't even have the frame yet

This will be lovely!

Err...now what?
You must change your name by deed poll to whatever rider name is on the frame. It's tradition.
NJS = Name Just Same. -

Early warning that taking the clamp-on brake off at the track then putting it back on after the session is a huge faff (IME anyway). Not a fan of drilling but maybe you should consider finding a drilled fork and swapping it out?
Right so ever since I agreed to race at the doomed LFGSS track day I've been doing training sessions every weekend (because I didn't want to horribly humiliate myself) and decided that yeah actually the track is bloody good fun and I'd like to keep it up and get good at it.
So I had a look on ebay and sumo found lots of Keirin bikes being sold from Japan, all used by professional Keirin riders and they were lush, but most of them were too expensive, £500+ plus the £85 for postage from Japan and whatever the import fees are...so I thought meh, I'll just get something cheaper from the UK or Europe.
But I couldn't help myself from checking again this morning, and lo and behold was a frame selling for considerably less than most of the others at £385, exactly my size (48.5 seat tube, 51.5 top tube), and with a real nice paint job. Once you added the postage it still came to almost £500 but I decided that I'd rather have a unique Keirin frame for £500 than just another Cinelli Mash or whatever.
So this is my new baby, it hasn't actually arrived yet (these are the ebay photos I've stolen) but it should get here in a couple of weeks and hopefully I can get it built up for the last month of the track season and possibly Velojam if I work up the courage to enter!
Err...now what?
