I had a customer who came in to buy 25's for his ellipses as he was going to the alps. So they do fit although I wouldn't recommend any larger.

Thought I'd resurrect this thread rather than start another to ask you guys a question.
Just putting on a new ellipse rear and using a freewheel with it. I was surprised to hear this v cool whooshing noise coming from around the hub area as it spun on the freewheel.
Any idea what's causing the noise? Should I attempt adjusting the bearings or something?
Cheers guys!

The freewheel pawls?

Possibly... but there's none of the quiet clicking I'd associate with freewheel pawls. Anyway, I've put the freewheel back on the old wheel and will see if it makes whooshing sounds tomorrow.

Freewheel on ellipses.... );

Yeah. Perhaps not great, but I find fixed a bit of a stressy way to ride in town.

Please tell me you have a back brake as well...
First I heard fixed being a bit stressy in town.

Hey nodachi1!
What kind of freewheel are you using with your ellipse? Manufacturer?
So Mavics recommended tire sizes for the Ellipse is 18 to 22 mm. Has anyone tried to put a 25c or even wider on that wheel?
