  • So! Back in town and went to 'Dough Pizza Kitchen' in the NQ with my coeliac girlfriend.

Ordered gluten free everything (Garlic Pizza with pancetta, steak chunks with dough sticks and the jamaican pizza) shared all between two and we were absolutely stuffed.

The steak pieces were delicious, and the jamaican was mind blowingly tasty, best gluten free pizza base I've ever had too (most places use frozen ones if they offer them at all so its not a surprise as this was made fresh!)

    Where else is good nowadays?

  • ^ I love dough, best vegan pizza i've ever had is from there.

V Revolution do some good Vegan junk food, burgers and the like, they also sell records.

  • Yaki Soba in Chortlon is my favourite restaurant in Manchester, no idea about vegan options though. Thai place called Phet Pailin in china town is good and its unlicenced so bringing your own booze saves you some money. Coriander is supposed to be great and its vegetarian I believe. Gorilla by Harry Hall do a FIT sunday roast.

  • Coriander +1 they have vegan options too
    Panicos
Frankies Fish Bar (now called Fish Bait)
    Falafel on curry mile
The Woodstock does some good food, had Xmas day dinner there and it was great.

  • p.s. Koffee Pot when only an Irish Brekkie will do.

  • p.p.s. Shiva also great for curry, tho the set Menu delivered seems to have Mushrooms in every dish.

  • Koffee pot was the place i spent most of my weekends as a 15/16 year old, old nick top guy

  • Huhuhu, eating out.

  • Huhuhu, eating out.

I thought the same hu hu hu hu, cool

  • Bump!

I'm going to be visiting Manchester on a company trip at the end of the month and have been instructed to find some good but not too pricey restaurants for us to have dinner in for the 5 nights we're there. The pizza place looks perfect price-wise and it's in the Northern Quarter which is where we'll be working most of the time, does anyone have any more recommendations for that area or other places in the center of town?

  • Home sweet home and luck lust liquor and burn are both amazing.

Further a field (deansgate way) almost famous serves amazing burgers but they have not one thing veggie.

also might be worth taking a trip down curry mile while in rome n all that.

  • Hiya!

    Has almost famous moved?

    Byron is better anyways.

  • its in the great northern now (amc cinema building)

  • byrons on my list of places to go

  • Cheers dudes

  • Bakerie in NQ also worth a look.

  • also the Pie shop out the back of Bakerie.

  • Home sweet home is seconded, ate their twice last week and about 4 times in the last month or so. The ribs are AMAZING!

  • Home sweet home is great. Bakerie is over hyped, the roasts are fully terrible. Pie & Ale is much better, though not enough ales to justify putting it in the name.

  • My all time favorite place is Try Thai in china town, never had a bad meal and Tum on here is from Thailand and rates it

  • I enjoyed a Pancho Burrito yesterday in the arndale food bit.

  • ^^^ I enjoyed roast at Bakerie but that was back in 2012 so maybe chef changed or something?

  • Was it all in seperate pots? Really dry meat, yorkshire like a cracker and middling vegetables.

Changos burrito/mexican place which has opened fairly recently on oxford road is good for cheap food.

I rave about the place all the time, but the food offering in the Beagle is pretty awesome as well.

Has anyone tried the newish tapas place near oi polloi in town. l'evuna or similar?

  • Ooh Mexican. With added Chan bonus.
