Fist off sorry that Im not able to help you and for barging in on your post but I'm new here and this looks like a thread that might be able to help me :)
Im looking to build up one of these for my G/F,
I have a load of half decent single speed bits that I have taken off my old bike. Will I have a problem fitting them to this type of frame?

Err...dunno. Suppose it depends on what the parts are? Some parts might just not fit - seatposts might be different diameters, or you might have a 1 1/8" stem rather than a 1". A quick google around should throw up plenty of helpful stuff. It's how I bodge my way through most bits of mechanics first time round.

Shit, sorry Jonty only just saw this. Have decided against picking up any bits for this project for the moment as I'm now moving house and balls to having any more stuff to put in boxes. Cheers for the offer tho...

Apologies for the hijack but I am now building up a mixte (arrived on Thursday, needs a clean but I'm super excited about it!) and wondered if anyone had any cranks that I could purchase? Cheap if possible. Or if anyone has a Raleigh BB for sale I'd be at your doorstep holding out money faster than lightning.

Looking for some cranks to go on this frame as I don't want to put the cottered ones that came with it back on. (I'll be getting a different bottom bracket as well, obviously)
Looking for something inexpensive. And silver.
