2013-10-05 AnaNichoola VeloJam - Women's only Track Racing @ Herne Hill

After the resounding sucess of last year's event, VeloJam is back for 2013 and promises to even bigger and better!

AnaNichoola Velo Jam is a women's only track event brought to you by Team MuleBar Girl - Sigma Sport. The concept is based on the belief that something needs to be done to tap into all the women out there who want to give track racing a go. With a hefty cash prize pot plus loads product prizes, AnaNichoola VeloJam will be attracting and rewarding racers of all abilities from elite through to novice riders.

As an event we are proud to offer three categories - A Cat, B Cat and Go-Race - allowing women the unique opportunity to race against other riders of similar ability.

*A Cat - Aimed at seasoned track riders (Must be 16yr plus or apply for exemption. British Cycling full race license required)

• B Cat - Aimed at those who are fairly new to track racing or are not as fit/strong as A Cat riders (Must be 16yr plus or apply for exemption. British Cycling full race license required)
  
• Go-Race - Aimed at newbies to track racing - you must have ridden the track before and be comfortable with group riding. (Must be 16yr plus or apply for exemption. No British Cycling license required - however British Cycling now charge a £5 surcharge to enter if you are not a member).

Location: Herne Hill
Entry: £15 before £20 on day
Racing: Omnium style racing split into A, B and C (GoRace) Categories. No license required for the Go-Race / Novice category.

We will be focusing on all of the races in VeloJam races in our women's track sessions on the lead up to the event. We have gone for the later time as keen to make this into a party as well as a race :-)

Cool. I went and watched last year and was great fun!

I raced last year in the C (Go-Race) category and had a great time. Thoroughly recommend it.

^ Modesty alert! Didn't you win? Think I am around for this. Have rather failed to follow through on my plans to do loads of track this year, so suspect I will be go race cannon fodder.

Is it still £20 for spectators? Unfortunately can't enter as I haven't had time to get down to any of the track sessions.

I think it's free to spectate at this event. I know it was last year.
