Cool project, gt have used some interesting colours over the years, i like this one. Also you won't need a bell with the hope hub, I love the sound of the trials hub.

thank god! I thought there was some issue with them. I have Pro2 Evo on my other bike they are not as loud.

I regularly use my Hope hub as a bell. It's great. As is this bike, looks super fun!

whats the difference between the hope pro ll evo and evo trials ?
i just thought there was just 1 version a pro ll evo -
• #14
doh ! looking at the hope website i can see now
the trials are allen key bolts and pro ll's are the quick release
-
• #15
trials is single speed specific, although people who use it reckon you can get upto 6 or 7 cogs on it, not that I ever will/can

^^ the axle interface on hope pro 2 hubs is easily switchable: http://www.wiggle.co.uk/hope-pro-2-evo-mtb-rear-wheel-axle-conversion-kit/

i have the evo ll trials vs ex729's on my jump bike .... beautiful wheels as strong as you'd wish for, very loud get people out of the way along the canal paths

• #18
Looks good! Epic commute wheels :)
The trials hub is definitely louder, I think because it has twice as many engagement points. Sorry should have said something!

I regularly use my Hope hub as a bell.
..and an alarm clock for your housemates when you cycle off down the street at 7am.

Ha! I try not to freewheel until I get to the end of the road!^
-
• #21
I bet grumpy JB coasts intentionally...
-
• #22
I believe the trials hub also has 48 engagements over the 24 you get on normal hope pro hubs. That's what makes it louder.
Edit: Plastic Pedals beat me to it.

• #23
That's proper mint. Acquire knobblies and get it on some trails!

• #24
but that would get it dirty

nice, looks awsome
Just won this on ebay and anyway I was in process to build a 26" SS MTB for commuting it will replace the rat.
This build needs to be as cheap as possible using whatever I already have (minus the WW fork) I already have following;
CK Headset
Sram S300 crankset 48t and BB, I know too big for MTB build but I'll run a bigger cog i.e. Velosolo 20t bolt on cog
Saddle & saetpost
Handlebar and front brake

Need suggestions on wheels, not too expensive.
