    Interesting stuff.

Bike Fit: It's All About the Bike - YouTube

  • Agreed-bike fits have always been a bit of a black art in my mind but that's good to see.

  • I heard him speak at the annual bike fit symposium that Cyclefit host here in London- he is an excellent fitter. Not only that but he is good at communicating what he does- some people are good do-ers and a tiny percentage can ALSO explain and educate.

I would say that he is particularly good at identifying muscle weakness & dysfunctional firing patterns- not too surprising given his rehab/ trainer background. He asked some of the toughest questions at the Symposium.....

  • High praise indeed.

When I saw the video was an hour long I thought 'fuck that; but actually ended up sitting through the whole thing. Really well delivered and very watchable.

One thing I immediately got from it was that I'd always based my saddle height on the leg being pretty much straight at the bottom of the peddle stroke. Obviously don't have the ability to accurately measure the angle of the knee myself, but I dropped my saddle by about 4 or 5mm before today's 100 miles and was definitely more comfortable after five and half hours than I have been over much shorter distances previously.
