    £600 Collected

    First of all, hey guys & girls, been lurking a while but never really made any contribution to the site before, nice to meet you all.

    I'm sure most of you heard about the tournament that coincided with the H&M + BLB clothing range, in which 16 custom BLB bikes where up for grabs, but if not, see the links below;

    http://bricklanebikes.co.uk/HM-for-BLB.html

    And the shop page;

    https://www.bricklanebikesshop.co.uk/products/h-and-m-x-blb-limited-edition-bike

    As you may have guessed I'm one of the lucky winners, and am looking to sell the bike in mint, untouched condition.

    As for reasons of sale, now that I've graduated (& unemployed) its crystal clear that I can't afford it, especially as I already own 2 bikes, one of which is fixed as well. I've been waiting on the sale as I had the bike delivered to my non-term time address, and I also wanted to let forum users that were trying to do the same thing finish their transactions first.

    Pic:

    Some specs below (more on above links);

    -BLB lo-pro (Cro-Mo steel) frame

    -Limited edition white Notorious 03 carbon tri-spoke front wheel

    -Flip-flop rear wheel (42mm H+Son deep section white alloy rim)

    -BLB pursuit handlebars in bright silver

    -46T BLB Pista Vera track crank set in bright silver (165mm arms)

    RRP is £1290, but as said before, it seems a joke. Asking price is £750 posted (UK Mainland), or I'll unpack, setup and deliver the bike to London for £725, or you can pick up for £700 in the Cambridge area.

    Also might be consider a trade discount for a mid-end black crankset, around a 46T at least.

    Won't be splitting unless needed, and would likely be charging more to split.

    Thanks muchly for looking, feel free to PM me, but my responses may be delayed as I'm mobile-only for the next few days.

  • Well this is gonna be interesting..

  • Keep the gifs coming. (sits back with some popcorn as well)

  • not to derail this but there are 16 of these abominations (sorry i meant "an eye catching urban ride – a perfect mix of classy and modern")?

    GLWS, however if you're looking for that kind of money (esp for something everyone knows you won in a competition) ebay might be your best bet

  • Always a classic.

  • If you don't want the bike give it to someone who does. It cost you nothing so why not spread the love.

  • ^^^ fair comment Jeez on the price

    except, the 50% for second hand doesn't factor in BLB tax included in the RRP

    as i said GLWS - no criticism was intended of the OP. Just he won't get anywhere near that on the forum but may well do on ebay

  • Frame is cro-mo... so.. ya know..
    Wheels would get a bit, but fuck me, how can they say it's anywhere close £1200?

    ('they're a shop, they've got to make money'>>>>>>>>>>>)

  • not really a lo pro, and whilst everyone may not want "custom build retro shit" what annoys me about this is the way BLB market this - clearly they want you to to buy into the faux "custom build retro shit" lifestyle - Exhibit A: http://bricklanebikes.co.uk/HM-for-BLB.html

    as to pricing, yes i suppose if you sold the spok/rear wheel you might get £250-275 odd towards another wheelset, but that rather defeats the point in buying this. And if you're just after a 4130 frame as a starting point there are good options out there. The cold reality is that selling new stuff in these classifieds always takes a massive hit, mainly because there are a lot of nice used options that make this look overpriced.

    However, for someone after this look, I would agree it is not bad value per se at the price the OP wants. Just he may struggle here.

  • I don't think anyone's going to splash £700 on a BLB bike when you consider some of the full bikes that go for that price on here (or any other forum for that matter).

    As others have said, no offence to OP, but it just aint happening man. Pass on some of your good fortune - £400 would be a good deal for that I reckon, covering the parts, basically. Aint nobody gonna pay the BLB premium.

  • I think it's a fair price, all things considered.

  • Holla holla, OP here, this was always my favourite;

    But yeah I think the price is fair, sorry if I offended any of yous by posting it here. One was split and sold for around the same price a few months back on here, and one on ebay for 750 as well, and offers are always welcome.

    Had a few pm's already for splits, and I'd much rather split on here than sell the whole bike on ebay.

    Thanks for all the feedback

  • OP repped for being a cool customer. GLWS.

    Ha ha!!!!

    +1

  • OP wins!

    the circling hounds will not feast on popcorn tonight

  • +1, repfest!

  • can we tell poo stories yet?

    That thread was the best thing I have read. Ever.

    In my life.

  • Well done OP. GLWS, you deserve it.

  • I think that's a fair price. May not be to everyone's taste but what ever is?

    Think it's a little scumbag of some forum users to go shouting their mouths off when someone is trying to make a sale, but then again they do win a whole internet, so guess it can be excused.

  • James, I think most of the reaction was more along the lines of "you're probably wasting your time, you'd be better off on eBay" - which is fair and true.
