I'd look at something like a cxp33 rim with a bolt on cog. Should be able to get 32-35mm tyre I reckon.

Why bolt on?

I think if I were wanting a wheelset to take abuse and be used in the winter, I would go for bolt on.
I've only heard great feedback on them, and it makes sense to me.

Will the geo be affected by using a 700c fork?
I was wondering this. I can only assume so but I deem it acceptable due to it being a rat/freak anyway.
So the plan is to take this frame:
Put these forks on it:
Going to go for drops, levers and a front V brake.
Big tyres, fixed.
The frame is for 27 inch wheels so I will hopefully be able to get some reasonably big tyres on 700c wheels.
Anyone got any suggestions for a fixed wheelset that can take some abuse and slightly wider tyres?
