I had this on my right side for a bit. Everything felt just a teeny bit more stretched and achey. Turns out my saddle was angled ever so slightly off centre. Not enough to notice when you jump on, but over the course of a long ride / many rides, I felt it. Might be worth double checking the fit / alignment of everything (if that's not a stupid suggestion and you haven't already...)?

Could be IT band tension, have a google.
Angling your saddle to left or right a little is common practice.
I've recently started commuting 25 miles each way per day and I'm starting to feel some pains, as well as the usual aches.
These only seem to present themselves on my left side, though; my left leg/hip is the worst (I think perhaps a hangover from a skiing injury a while ago) and is definitely hampering my performance, and all the usual aches through the shoulders and arms and back are far worse on my left side.
I don't feel like I'm preferring one side when I'm riding but I must be, right? Is there any other explanation?
