Also planning on getting the lugs and lug cut outs lined and filled in yellow or gold? What do you guys think? Opinions welcome.

I'm sure it will look grand. I've got the bits off my plug and onto the green Raleigh frame I recently bought from you, she rides real nice.
Risers are next on my list so I look forward to a pic of this frame built up with the flats. -

Nice!
I'd swap everything over, if you're breaking it up.
Lugs lined white, white bar tape.
Those bars / levers will make it look like a Charge Plug or summat... -

So gona give it a go, if it looks shit I'll put the drops on with some sew on leather bar grips like these http://farm8.static.flickr.com/7275/7144253463_966d68ed16_z.jpg

I've only got one on my phone which I will dig out now, its a crappy iphone shot of the bike straight out of Lunar cycles (great store) after they swapped the BB over and drilled the forks. This is leant up outside Camden Brewery before I got home to stick on some peddles, white cork bar tape and adjusted everything.

Looking good mate, I reckon it would look good with gum wall tyres too, always looks good on green bikes.
Here it is with risers and gumwalls http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i142/revilobeetle/69EB2430-0A47-425C-9B4E-B749AEC0E2C0-2508-000001B6B8D05BD2_zps6155fa7b.jpg

Thanks! She's getting there alright, not sure what risers will look like but I don't get on with drops and no hoods.
Gum wall tyres will be tasty, green bikes rock!
Sorry for a slight thread hijack, good luck with yours. -

Just added a link of when I had it with risers and gumwalls ^^

Well that makes it easy to imagine, I like it!

Yeah would look even better without gears and rear brake too as your current set up

Ok so started sticking some parts on. Tested whether I prefer straight bar or drops. I think 57 Hawkes was right, it defo looks better on drops...
Also noticed its got pretty tight clearances for a road frame

the straight bar photo was just for laughs and giggles innit?
-
• #17
cotton bar tape fitted with cork bar ends

haha no genuinely wanted to see what it would look like, realised the error in my thoughts. Its defo better with drops.

Ok, got the new Dia Compe Levers on today with the cable housing (needs trimming down), just waiting for the inner brake cables now. As its going to be my commuter I need at least a rear mudguard, as I hate getting soggy arse! As the clearances on this frame are tight at the back, I decided to put the front Giles Berthoud guard on the back. Although its not complete coverage and I'm bound to get wet legs and feet at least I wont have a wet arse. Just waiting for some attachments to come through as it doesnt have guard eyelets. Anyway, I thought it looked pretty good with it on, what do you guys think?

waiting for my new BB tool to arrive so I can fit the Tange cartidge BB, then can get the cranks, pedals and chain on :-)
Then I need to borrow a decent camera and find a nice spot with better light for photos...

Really like this.
The mudguard situation.... You can easily get a good inch or so more in that dropout, there will be enough clearance for full mudguards. Do do what is in that picture, it will feel shit, look shit and will probabally make all sorts of noises.
What was the reasoning for not going with some nice non aero brake levers?
Just got my fingers on this from a fellow LFGSS member. Its a newly repainted SBDU Raleigh frame in sweet 70's green colour with Brian Rourke decals. Story is the previous owner bought it in a similar colour with BR decals and therefore got it restored in the same, not knowing it is actually a Raleigh. It turns out it has quite a low SB number of 945 and therefore is quite an early team raleigh frame 1976/77. Therefore it was probably restored by BR in the past and therefore thats how it got its BR decals.
found the original sale on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Brian-Rourke-road-frame-1970s-22-75-unmarked-and-beautiful-531-Campagnolo-/271201172657?nma=true&si=An%252BhQ1gnMHiWXMctug6XFes%252F2LY%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
I'm planning to build it up as a single speed. Using parts from my current Raleigh
Parts on this are -
FSA Gimondi Cranks 48T
Tange BB
Galli brakes
Campag Nuovo Record HS
Brooks Swallow
Cinelli Criterium Bars
Shimano Levers
Shimano Freewheel 16T
Mavic rims Quando hubs
Panaracer Tour guard Gumwall tyres
Giles berthoud Guards
Unbranded stem and seat post
I think on this frame though it might look good with flat bars so I've just bought a pair of Tektro FL750 Levers and some PDW Leather bourbon grips in black to match the brooks saddle
