Love a bit of Orbit: got one myself.
What size seatpost does it take?

Edit: no idea why i wrote "tri" in the subject line when I meant to write 'TT'.[/quote]
You probably wrote 'tri' cos it says it on the top tube! Nice Frame.

Scilly the headtube looks long because of the 650c.
Will measure seat post and let you know.
Si46 - thats more like it, couldnt think straight yesterday.

Took me ages to get back to you sorry.
Seat post is 27mm

Hmmm, tempted to get this for son #2 who's currently riding a teeny tiny Orbit America with 650c wheels but will v soon have outgrown it - this would be a perfect frame onto which I could transplant everything from the America. But I'm not sure this is a top priority right now...

Obviously I'd suggest investing early ;)

Will take £100 on this now, and happy to post!

Son #2 has not yet written on his list of things he wants for his borthday next month "Oh, and a slightly taller Orbit frame and forks in that lovely 531c tubing so that I can ride around without my knees coming up the side of my head".
But I'm thinking about adding it.
-
• #10
He probably just doesn't realise how much he needs it ;)
-
• #11
He agrees it's a lovely frame, but to be honest it might be simpler to wait until he needs a bigger bike and then sell the existing diddy Orbit and buy something with 700c wheels for him. Oh dilemmas.

Tricky.

Do you know if it would actually be possible to run it with 26" mtb rims? Would it have enough clearance for the skinniest MTB slicks like 1" ? Would the brakes reach?
-
• #14
I've tried 26" wheels on there and they fit and brakes shouldn't be a problem.
Tyres seemed like they would be fine at 1" but I did try with wheels without tyres so cant guarantee.

Nice frame, is it still on sale?
cheers -
• #16
Hi, yes it is - £100, PM me if interested.
-
• #17
Still available?
-
• #18
Yes, it is.

• #19
Last shout on this before ebay
-
• #20
Hi, do you by any chance still have this?
-
• #21
Hi Ludd, yes I do. PM if interested.
-
• #22
PM and email on its way. Son #2 likes the look of this, and if I can then sell on his miniature version (see pic below) for a similar price I should be able to complete his upsizing.

• #23
^ Interested in this above. PM sent to Ludd

• #24
Oh yes Ludd like the look of the current one too!

Nice to meet you RR, and thanks for bringing the frame, which is a real beauty. A quick measure-up makes me think I will be able to do a swap of all the parts of the existing tiddly bike while retaining the current saddle/bar positions.
Handmade and brazed in England, 'Reynolds 531 Competition' Orbit time trial frame and forks in very good condition, no dings, paintwork looks great, few rubs and chips but nothing major.
This takes 650c wheels, or I guess you can use 26".
Measurements CTC:
Seat tube - 54cm
Top tube - 53cm
Rear dropouts - 130cm
Bottom bracket threads are good, headset in very good condition. Bottom bracket shell stamped 728015 T.
Price £100
Photos in hi-res here.
Pickup in East London. Or possibly I could post...
Please let me know if you have any questions.
