for those who are keen, I'm happy to lead a ride out group from Trafalgar Sq. around 2100 to meet people at Farnborough station. I'll also be about for a spot of food, most likely at my friends place 'Notes' on St. Martins around the corner. Let me know if you're interested.

Is there secure bike storage at your house?
-
• #6
Ludwig, I've enough room in my place for everyone's bikes in my vaults which are secure yeah. If people want to leave bikes there after breakfast then walk back into town (a 20 min walk) rather than lock it outside the spa it's all good (and I'll be doing this).

Last years effort was the best ride I've been on. In like Flynn.

Would have done this but I'm doing a time trial early Saturday morning. Have fun!

Great idea doing it on a Friday night tho!

Was also my favourite ride of 2012 - but am away that weekend. V disappointed.
-
• #11
Think I'm back from holiday by then. Potentially in but will check.

Sam, KT sorry you can't make it, we're slaves to our calendars :-(

Noo! I am also very disappointed. Running in a little group off the front with you and Rob singing 'I need a hero' was a cycling highlight...

I'm away that weekend. Bummer. I'll try and KOM this or something...http://app.strava.com/segments/2511304

Pretty sure it was you and Rob serenading each other, but yes, it was a lot of fun! I think the slightly strung-out, we've-had-no-sleep duck-watching was a personal highlight.

Yeah go on then. I'm in providing no injuries or mechanicals before then.

^^
I think some of my fellow riders may have found other attractions at the baths
Rooftop pool in the sun (with a frankly phenomenal ratio of males to females) .
Anway, for TNRCers who like their post-ride swimming a bit more, um, rustic: http://www.lfgss.com/thread107536.html

I have to admit, last year's ride (and that ratio) is part of the reason I moved to Bath.

Haven't managed to make a deluxe before, now seems the time.
Will be doing the route this weekend in the daylight, so can probably help backstop this if requiredDeluxe TNRC 28th June 2013 to Bath http://www.thermaebathspa.com/

Huzzah, great to have you onboard laner! I was aware of your own ride this weekend and wondered whether you might be interested. Glad for any and all assistance necessary to keep a group and banter rolling along :D

Boo!
TNRC invites you on the first Deluxe of the 2013 season:
If you don't know about us, we're the bunch of guys (and girls!) who spend every other Tuesday out on the lanes of the home counties, enjoying 35-55km of finest, local blacktop. We do winding flats, rolling hills and testing climbs on a 'fixed first' approach, check out the thread for more.
For the second year in a row we're doing our more challenging 'deluxe' overnighters on a weekend though we're proposing a Friday night start to maintain that 'after work ride' feel. Myself, Balmain, Ramaye and Middleofnowhere will be keeping the group together but expect a relaxed pace, good banter and empty roads.
The ride will once again consist of 95 miles of road to Royal Bath Spa, finishing with a slap-up breakfast and (optionally) a breather at the Thermae Spa. For those that are interested I will also be opening up my home and garden for a BBQ and stage 1 of the Tour de France.
