Campag bearing puller

Posted on
  • I have a campag power torque chainset and want to remove it.
Can anyone point me to where I can get a bearing puller from,
I want to Remove chainset to renew the bearings, but don't want to pay LBS £25 when I could get a tool for a little more,

    Cheers

  • I was in the same predicament last week, I decided to pay the £25 for LMNHs to do it as i need my BB faced too. You will need a CBP-5 and CBP-3, the total is around £100.

I wish I had gone with ultra torque...

  • If I expand the story I just bought an ultra torque to put on and want to fit the power torque to my winter Ribble

Thanks for the links but wanted to ask if anyone has found a suitable alternative which is cheaper at all??

I see lots of 2 leg pullers on eBay and wondered if one would do the job suitably

  • the 'business end' needs to have a fairly wide/deep area yet narrow sectional depth so as to transfer effective 'pull' onto the inside face of the cranks and yet still clear the bb assembly; plus centrering is an arse unless you fabricate an indented insert.

also you'd want a soft faced foot when dealing with crabon.

    bloody campagnolo!

  • Sorry to dredge up an old thread, but thought it was better than starting a new one... I've got a pair of Campag Vento G3 wheels with gritty bearings and would like to remove them but need an internal bearing puller. Does anyone have one I could use, the type with a slide hammer? The "grommet" i.e. the attachment which fits inside the bearing needs to be 8-10mm wide.

I've consulted Campag's technical docs and this is the tool they recommend so I'd really appreciate it if I could borrow one, it looks like a simple job, thanks.
