Anyone up for some longer rides?

Couldn't really find an appropriate spot for this one so started a new one - apologies if I'm clogging the forum up...

Would anybody be in the mood for some longish (perhaps geared, but fixed if you're hard) rides over the summer? I'm trying to find a nice route from Cambridge - Norwich and back which is probably a two dayer, and it'd be cool to share the ride back with people if anybody is keen. I'm thinking of stuff between 70 - 100 miles if the elevation is fairly reasonable, which it tends to be round these parts.

Would be up for tagging along with anybody if you guys have any nice ideas elsewhere.

Just a thought but have you looked in the "Upcoming Rides" section in events?

They're pretty much all London though right?

Cambridge - Norwich and back which is probably a two dayer

Pah! I did Bedford to Norwich comfortably in a day before I even cycled properly, so definitely a day trip I think, would be cool to ride into either city for beers after a long day.

Awesomeee. The route i think i've sorted is about 70 miles each way and i don't really fancy both ways in one day!

I'd be up for these too although it depends when they are as I'll not be able to do much riding after mid July for a while.

Rob & I were also talking about doing our own mini dynamo as some point. Bike to coast late in the evening, some food on the beach and then back home through the dawn.

^ Imperative we get this in before mid July before you go AWOL for several months :-)

I'm pretty unfit so we could definitely take a day and take it nice and easy - maybe stop for lunch somewhere. If Norwich - Cambridge is good I was considering a fairly similar route to the one the train takes; Wymondham and Theford and Ely etc...

Yup, I'm riding the DD from London. Hoping to limp on to Norwich from Dunwich if anyone wants to hop on? Maybe stop for some calories at the first open place we find?

I'm having a look at a route from Norwich to meet up with the DD. Unsure at the minute where to meet up with it.

This sounds ace. You could bring a tow-rope and get me back to Norwich!

I usually leave Norwich at 1am and ride straight down the A140 until I see the never ending ending stream of bike lights crossing the road.
Its 105 miles in total; 37 miles of A140, 30 miles of Dynamo, and 37 miles back to Norwich.

I've changed the route back slightly this year to avoid Latitude festival traffic.
