  • awesome...

  • Shit just got real

  • what a great bike but a litle pricee for me :(

  • sorry to hear you have to sell vanttera.

  • I like this thread a hell of a lot better than Mother Russia and his shithouse tactics

BUMP for a truly genuine sale and beautiful bike

  • ^ this. was nice to see the restoration process. i'd rather pay for the effort made on this than helping the easy-cash thing of the russians. the laser is still on top of my most wanted list though. and i also like to play the hide and seek game with the components and doing the restoration myself. but still :)

  • Is it possible to fit 28c tyres on it? :]]]

Clearance-wise yes, but 28mm tubulars are not everywhere all the time.

  • Hi All,

I'm new here, and excited to see this bike. In trying to date a Cinelli Pista frame, and by searching the web I have come across this thread.

I have a 1960's Cinelli Pista with serial number 6129. I've wiped off the dust, and it is in very good condition looking very similar in design/ colour/ decals to the above bike. It belonged to my Father in Law, who has recently passed away leaving a veritable treasure trove of cycling history in his workshop.

We have restored a couple of bikes (Colnago's) already, but specifically with the Cinelli, and an Austro-Daimler Super Leight I think they would be of real interest to a genuine collector.

I'm keen on cycling, but a bit of a novice when it comes to vintage bikes! Can anyone help me with an approximate value, or where the best place to advertise them would be please?

    Many thanks

  • Forgot to say, I'm in Scotland... before the name confuses anyone :)

  • Worthless. I'll dispose of it for you for £50.

  • (selling wise, not sure of values, others wil prob know, but Ebay for high prices, LFGSS tends to favour regulars and lower prices)

  • Worthless. I'll dispose of it for you for £50.

I'll bear that offer in mind if there is no other interest ;)

I think from the serial number and the early catalogues it is likely to be 1961/1962

Edited: Frame not for sale on this forum now, in order to abide by LFGSS rules as it is listed on a Retrobike thread. Apologies for missing that rule!

  • I could be wildly out but you should be able to get around £700 for it? I think they are pretty sought after, but folks on here rarely seem to pay that kind of money?

  • p.s. if they are old steel Cinelli Pista bars they usually fetch £100 or so... ditto stem.

  • I had a cinelli modele B 1964- think i got about 500 quid for that- so this should fetch a fair bit!"

Thanks. It has the original bars, headset, and bb. It was last ridden in the 70's on the track, and been dry stored since then.

Part of the problem is that I have no idea where the 'Cinelli collectors' are to be found! It might just be a case of trying international ebay once I find out more about it.

  • I'm toying with the idea of making my own website to sell certain items, I hate trawling through crap, and if you get the SEO stuff right you could be on to a winner without any of the ebay hassles/restrictions... could be worth a try?

    Any other track bits going?
