what are you doing?
this is mineI had you both beat. Wanted it for a Chorus 9 group. But tried to be smart and offer less.
Gruber flopped the wad (poss euph)relieved actually
-
• #9
Nothing floppy about my wad atm.... Gruber is leading it off down the path to the secluded shed where he's set to keep it captive a la Fritzl.
Seriously though, I am running off to hide it under a blanket before anyone gets home.

Beautiful frame, love the details, but please no more pictures against that rug, it's giving me a migraine!

The frame is still hiding in the shed, but i've been thinking of Ola fondly whilst deliberating on what to decorate her fine form with.
Was thinking, and still am to a point, of going full C-Rec. But have now started thinking of 10 speed Veloce cranks, mechs and shifters with C-Rec seatpost and Delta's to retain a classic, sexy feel about it?
Also means I can stick to my 10 speed campag wheelset and not fanny about buying the appropriate 8 speed Campag one. This of course means I will have some C-Rec bits sitting in the spares box, which feels a bit criminal. I've just gotten use to precise shifting and nice outboard BB bearings and I'm a bit reluctant to surrender it...
meh.
Will think on it anyway.

So today was spent fiddling with Ola whilst watching the tour and feeling a bit shit. Still, pretty decent afternoon by any standard and I'm only a cassette and a missing link away from taking a maiden ride.
I forgot how much a pain in the ass Deltas are to set up but I can forgive that for how damn awesome they look. Still not sure if its a bit wank to have them with the modern group but the saddle, seatpost and stem/headset/bars are keeping it pretty classic looking... If the stopping power is a bit lacking I can always go for a pair of Centaur skeletons that are in the tool box.
Think the pedals will be 90's Time Racing ones that work with my retro fluo-everything Sidi's to disrupt any pretensions of classy-ness.
The paint is so nice i don't know how I'll bring myself to despoil it through use but I'm a firm believer that a bike is only beautiful if it is being used, so ridden it will be... Compared the geo to my grubaix special and this will be a bit more upright because of the HT and stem, but otherwise they're bang on the same which is nice. Pretty chuffed as much as i'm feeling a bit spoilt... really looking forward to seeing how it rides.

lovely frame, imho skeleton centaurs will look and function better
-
• #17
I suspect you're right on the function... look I'm not sure-Deltas are nice on the right frame and I think they go well with the OS tubing.
Either way they were such a pain in the balls to install properly that they will be on there for a while-plus if I change i reckon I'll need totally new cable outers and inners so want to get some use out of these ones first! : /
Fucking gorgeous day for a ride here and I'm here taking antibiotics for an impacted wisdom tooth wishing the lbs was open to get last bits : (

The Deltas look horrible. Take them off immediately and give them to me for my Colnago. Seriously though, lovely bike.

Very nice. But it needs an other stem so bad (imho)

I've tried to ride a modern Centaur shifter with an old Campagnolo Chorus single pivot brakes (late 80's) mainly because I couldn't afford a modern campag dual pivot, and the modulation is crap due to the lack of return spring on the levers.
It's quite possible that the modulation may not be as great as you would expect from the old campagnolo brakes.
Eh. Well I've been a bit naughty and bought when I should have sold....
i couldn't have helped myself though, and I'll end up selling much more as a result (in theory)...
It's just one of these frames you see and you literally get goosebumps.
So it's too bad that if my gf or family see it that they probably will stage some kind of disgustingly cloying intervention, or just lose the rag and start throwing kettles of boiling water at me. My cunning plan is to secrete it in the shed until time unknown and then just casually wheel it out like i've always had it-it's white the same as my tourer so it might work...
Anyway. Olagnero, Columbus Max oversized tubes from the early 90's, pretty fucking spanking condition and beautiful pearlescent white paint with black lugs and chrome stays.
Sex piss. True sex piss.
Dodgy camera pics for the mo that don't really do it justice...
