I'm sorry man but I really hate the back break only single speeds, it makes very little sense to me.

Guess it all comes down to what you feel comfortable riding. As a city bike, I don't see how it makes a difference to a degree that you can hate them. Front brakes always make me feel like I'm about to fly over the handelbars.

A front/two brakes would make sense on a ss bike....
An interesting read on front brake flying.
http://sheldonbrown.com/brandt/over-the-bars.htmlAnd it would be nice to see some clear pictures. Looks like a nice city bike......but its hard to tell with the filters on....

I like it, nice and clean. Please please take off the wheel reflectors though! I also don't get the back brake thing either but it's personal preference, of you like that then it's fine!

Nice, you can even mount some mudguards :)!

Looks like a nice job on the paint! Lovely colour.
However I think only having a rear brake is just plain dangerous. -

Well, I'm considering having two brakes. I would never, ever have just a front, though. Re the mudguards, I'm actually considering it, given the current weather here, if I can find some nice chrome ones! Also thinking it might look nicer with gumwall tyres

I think it's a lot more important to be able to stop quickly on a city bike if I'm honest.
I get that the whole back brake only single speed is meant to be a copy of the brakeless fixed method, but you can't lock up your back wheel instantly just using a caliper. Also I wouldn't claim brakeless has great stopping distance either for unpredictable conditions/wet weather etc.
Edit: I dunno man, for me it always comes down to - you're very likely to crash at some stage. If when you do you think 'that could've been a whole lot better if I had stopped sooner' you're going to feel pretty stupid I would imagine.

Two brakes is better than one in any case. But a front brake is better than a rear, stops you faster and the whole head over handlebars thing is a bit silly, never happened to me!

Nice !!! great colour !
Forgive the crappy Hipstamatic picture (can add more and better later) but I just got this back from Armourtex this morning. It's my first build...
British racing green powdercoat on a 1980s, I think, Raleigh Flyer frame, Rigida wheels laced to Quando hubs (this will change when money allows), BLB freewheel, BLB short crescent bars, BLB Pista Vera crank, no-name quill stem, no-name seat post (looking for a 24.5mm Aero-style post if anyone knows of one), Brooks, B17 Narrow saddle, crappy grips that will be replaced with cork grips or tape when time allows. For now, though, I'm quite happy with it. If anyone has any ideas re parts I'm looking for etc, feel free to add your 2p's worth and thanks.
