  • Hi guys

I'll be in london with my girlfriend for three days (from saturday 13 to monday 15). We'll stay in an Hotel near Kensington Gardens (central park hotel).

    I have a few questions :

    • will there be some cool events this week end ? (gigs, exhibitions, etc..)

    • wich places have to be seen. (works for restaurant, pub, etc..)

    • Do you guys think we could, maybe, I don't know, borrow two bikes.. :) Just in case. i'm not sure but, if yes I can bring lock. She rides, but we're looking for smooth bikes :) you know just to ride like two lovers everybody will hate.
I'm not sure that we'll need them but I'm asking in case of.

    • NO, I won't play polo, sorry :) (yep I know, that's not a question).

    Cheers, thank you in advance.
    Max.

  • What sort of exhibitions do you like?

  • Nothing special, anything. Is there a dedicated website for london and its exhibitions ?

  • its all here: http://www.timeout.com/london
    have fun!

  • newexhibitions.com

There's a fold out map for New Exhibitions that you can pick up in most of the galleries listed.

  • Light Show at the Hayward Gallery is good, but you'll need to book tickets in advance.

I would totally recommend seeing Susan Hiller's Channels at Matt's Gallery before it finishes next week, but it's on the other side of town from you and there probably isn't much else around there you'd want to visit.

  • Thank you all ;)
Is there a website for gigs also ? Not only big concert hall, even pub or something. We like all kind of music, especially something indie. Wanna drink some beers in a good place and listen to some good music.

Thank you again ;) you're all kind !

  • No polo? Maks, that's very serious bro, you are not planning to propose to her are you? ;)

  • maks i might be able to lend you a bike. email me.

  • I has a 56cm steamroller...what size is ya lady?

  • especially something indie

The Windmill pub off Brixton Hill for that sort of thing.

  • Thanks guys :)

    @skoota > I'll need your email
    @ gormley > I think 56 will be just good. I ride a 56 and she's a bit smaller
@coventry eagle > I won't but I'll spend my time with her, not with a bike polo ball :)
@dublinkevin > Thank you, I'll keep that name and have a look.

  • its me brendan, dopey.

  • Indie gigs - how does it feel gig guide - http://www.howdoesitfeel.co.uk/londongigguide.html

  • I thought it was rupert.. Can't you guys have your names instead of Scoobidoo8465_xGirl_YugiHo as a "name" ? :)

    I'll facebookmessage you. Thanks ;)

  • I'm away this weekend Makz but if you still need 2 bikes I could take them over to the polo mansion.
    Some weekend gigs:
Daytime Saturday for FREE at Union Chapel in Islington. Loads of good restaurants around there too.

Could also check the 100 Club. This looks fun for a Sunday night.

Have fun mate. Need any other suggestions get in touch.

  • Oh and if you're wondering, this is Todd. Sorry about the forum name confusion ;)

  • hahah

  • Shut it Rupert.

  • shutting is so 2011

  • Thank you Todd (or Todd ? I don't know anymore) :)
If we can borrow you two bikes it would be easier than take one from Brendanrupert and gormley :) I'll keep you posted.
And thank for the informations. I'll find a way to see some of you if possible (but this is a "no bike polo week end", I've signed a paper).

  • I have a smaller Surly Steamroller your girlfriend could borrow too Max, you can be matching as I know you love that ;) I live 5 mins from Adam just in case something doesnt work out.

  • Thank you :)

  • I also have bikes you can borrow, if necessary. Ellen is 5'5" (I guess y'all say 168cm?) with a fixie/free hub and I have various bikes. We live in Dalston E8, right in between Mitch and Downs.

If you get a sunny day I recommend going to London Fields or Victoria Park and drinking beer. Cheap and fun!

On Sat you can catch a foodie market at Broadway Market bordering London Fields.
