• Hello LFGSSers,

My bike stable is overflowing and my bank account isn't, and I'm planning a tour of France in the summer. Something has to give, and it's going to have to be my Moulton TSR9. I bought it 2 years ago from Warlands Cycles in Oxford as a TSR27 (9s derailleur with a three-speed SRAM DualDrive hub gear). It was a year old then, and had been barely ridden. I sold the DualDrive toss and rebuilt it as a drop-bar audax machine, did a few sportives and day rides then rebuilt again with flat bars and a secondhand Alfine. The Alfine turned out to be fucked and I decided to rebuild the Moulton again and sell it. In its current incarnation, the parts list is as follows:

    Grey Moulton TSR Frame (non-separable)

    SKS Moulton Mudguards
    Moulton front rack
Busch & Muller LYT front light (with standlight). Bright as Stephen Hawking on fire.

S/H Shimano Ultegra crankset and new 105 BB, new TA Specialites 50t ring.
System EX adjustable stem (the nicest adjustable I could find), Easton flat bar, ODI grips.
    Modified Shimano XT v-brake levers.
S/H Deore 9-speed 2-way release shifter and derailleur, geared 50 / 11-34 (29”-90”) with new HG cassette and chain.
    S/H San Marco Rolls saddle
S/H V8 pedals, rebuilt but a bit fucked, will get you home.
Front suspension spring replaced with a dual-rate version from Moulton.

    Wheels:
S/H Shimano Deore XT rear hub, S/H Schmidt SON front. Handbuilt 32/28 on new Sun CR18 double-wall rims, stainless spokes. Schwalbe Durano 28c tyres, one brand new, one with fifty miles or so.

As it stands, the only original components are the frame, seatpost and headset. Since the rebuild, I've done 20 miles to test and run in. In total in its various incarnations I've only done around 1000 miles on this. It rides like an utter dream, it's super stiff under power but it glides over the bumps, if you've never ridden a Moulton you should. They fucking rock. I've done all the work personally, I'm a professional cycle mechanic handling all of my shop's Moulton and Brompton repairs and most of the wheelbuilding.

Retail price of the TSR9 is £1295, total retail cost of upgrades would be about £500. I'm asking £1050 collected from Bath or I can personally deliver it to London Paddington. PM with any questions.
    Many thanks,

    Ben

  • A beaut. If I had the cash I would be rolling around in this.

  • Chaps. The Moulton is heading for Ebay in a week or so, I can't really afford a price drop but I now have a surplus nearly-new Cane Creek S2 1" headset - a considerable improvement on the stock part - which I'll include for the asking price. Danke danke.

  • love this

  • Hell Yes! Big thanks TM, I spent 1 (one) hour trying to embed and gave up in a teary heap.

  • Top notch seller, would definitely recommend.

  • PRICE DROP £1050. I know it's only a little drop but the bike's worth it. Will hit eBay if no interest this week.

  • Is this still going, or was it swallowed up by ebay?

  • To be honest I've been super busy and it hasn't made it to eBay yet, it will have to soon though if not interest here, the money situation is getting decidedly wobbly...
