Repped.
What sort of brakes/wheels do you need? I have plenty of both knocking around, but they're road standard, so might not suit.

Most likely 26" disc front wheels x 2

Ah, turns out the wheels are in fact 24". And yes, disc brakes if possible.
The rear wheel is typically fitted with a coaster brake but cantilever or something should also do fine.

In which case I can't help.

Thanks for the thought though - I should have mentioned wheel size at the outset.
Hoping to get some help from Cycooldelic in Brixton and London Green Cycles (cargo bike specialists) - fingers crossed.

As a thought, what made you rule out a more normal bike and a trailer? Cargo bikes tend to have all sorts of expensive and unique parts, whereas you could knock up a DIY trailer pretty easily and cheaply (variety of plans on google) and hitch it up to a beater.
I'd have thought for kitchen stuff the trailer would work particularly well as you've got a big flat low space for heavy stuff like stoves.

It's definitely a good thought and one I've been having myself too. The Surly trailers look particularly tough, if not cheap (£650). Will see what carryfreedom can do.
To be honest I'm starting to lean in the trailer direction too. It's partially because I'm interested in how to build a cargo bike, but practicality is the main thing really.

There's a guy in Adelaide, South Australia that has done something similar to this.

I dithered over whether to put this in Current Projects or here, so feel free to tell me to piss off to where I belong.
So, I want to build a cargo bike that incorporates a simple mobile kitchen (probably a couple of gas stoves and possibly a fold-out table area). Why? I help organise the Brixton People's Kitchen, which picks up perfectly decent food that shops and markets would otherwise have to throw away, and cooks it and serves it for free for everyone. We've been going for a year, but now we want to build a mobile kitchen so we can travel farther around South London and hold weekly kitchens in estates, community centres, homeless centres and suchlike this summer.
I've made a sort-of start, and have got hold of some parts from a Christiania bike (some sketchy photos here) for £20. A few others have kindly agreed to lend a hand: Union Cycle Works (or knowthejo on here) have offered spare parts and tools, the Remakery are giving us workshop space and scrap materials, and a couple of German guys http://vimeo.com/45143216
have offered to come to London for a week and help us build the kitchen part. We've got some money to spend on this for parts and so on, but we'd like to use donated/recycled parts as much as possible.
Anyone interested in helping, have some parts that might be useful, and/or have any advice?
Assuming the Christiania frame is ok, the main jobs look to be fixing the steering mechanism and brakes, and sorting out the wheels (we're missing one, and another needs a new hub). Alternatively, I'd be interested if anyone has any better ideas.
Thanks for any help you might be able to give...
