Shave your arms dude. More aero then.

You'd be surprised at how aero my arms are :)
I could shave my head and save a few grams. -

What wheelset are you going for, and what is your overall budget for the build?
-
• #9
I am not 100% decided on wheels, I will probably go with a cheap Halo aerorage* track rear and road road front, weight of that is 1.7kg and I'll convert the front axel to bolt on.
I would eventually like to either move to a chinese carbon wheelset or american classic 420.
With braking surfaces rattle canned black of course. -

Is that a gorgeous baby blue bedroom in the top pic?
-
• #11
It's an incredibly messy baby blue bedroom!

I changed my Omnium chainring bolts yesterday because they are made of cheese. When I got my new bolts yesterday I only had to remove three of the old Alu ones as the other two had dissolved somewhere in East London.
-
• #14
I kept them instead of the DA ones because they were 1/3 of the weight, may change over time if I get hold of some TI.
-
• #15
What did you replace them with Rob?
-
• #16
Steel chainring bolts FTW.

Ok, this evening I got my Dammit on and did a bit of weighing.
CBA to post pics of everything on the scales but if there's enough demand I will.

a seat post clamp.
Think you're being optimistic using claimed weight for tyres and tubes unless you're going to do the proper weight weenie thing of ordering 50 and only keeping the lightest 2 or 3...!!

There we go, thanks Ed.

This is going to be about as good looking as CB's Seta

True but are we really looking at more than a 20g variation max?
I reckon it's safe enough to say this should be under 7kg still.
I'd been mentioning this enough so I thought I should make a thread for it so I can update with progress.
This is not gonna be a super light build because I'm on a bit of a budget.
Parts so far:
FSA OS-99 stem
Deda Big Piega drops
DSP lizard skins tape
Selle Kuota stripped saddle
Condor Carbon seatpost
Sram omnium cranks with DA 51t chainring
Shimano R540 SPD-SL
Dolan seta 58cm frame and Dolan road for, for the time being until I can sort out a straight blade.
This thread will be updated with pics soon.
My target for this build is 7kg so nothing too hard.
