Sheffield suggestions please

Posted on
  • Am working in Sheffield all of next week and was wondering if anyone has suggestions for good pubs / cheap eateries / general evening stuff that's worth checking out whilst I'm there? I'll be staying pretty central, so city centre stuff is best.

    Thanks!

  • Harley burger!

  • Good drinking pubs are plentiful in the Kelham Island area (~10 mins walk from the centre) - Fat Cat, Shakespeare, Kelham Island Tavern, Riverside, Harlequin, Gardener's Rest.
More centrally the Rutland Arms, Dev Cat, Bath Hotel, Red Deer*.
*Also do food beyond the obvious bar snacks

For cheap eating, check out London Road for lots of Turkish/Asian/curry type stuff.

Evening entertainment: theatres, cinema (Odeon for mainstream, Showroom for more arthouse stuff), check the myriad of "what's on" websites for gigs etc. Tramp beers and bike polo Tuesday night (nearly always followed by a trip to the pub).

  • Thanks guys

Have heard the Dev Cat is good, i'll definitely give it a go

The Harley looks pretty interesting - not too sure about the 'ringstinger' burger though! London Road sounds good, but think I'll be around Arundel Gate mostly - anything about there?

  • sheffield train station bar i remember being pretty good.
