Hub sizing and hole help

Posted on
  • Hi all,

just purchased a Bridgestone frame which I'm building up.

Next to cross off my list are hubs!

Did have my eyes on some 36h Dura-Ace but after looking at examples and other forum users advising against the 36h with 60mm carbon rims.

    The criteria:

    .110mm
    . large flange
    . polished silver
    .26-28h

Have looked at Phil hubs, but they are a little out my price range!

  • anyone?

  • Not really sure what you are asking? Surely there are a gazillion options out there!

  • Ah - maybe it's the 110 spacing making it tough? I guess most traditional style hubs can be re-spaced if you don't fancy re-spacing the dropouts.

  • I'd prefer to keep the dropouts the same tbh!

I've also seen the 10mm to 8mm axles by Shimano, but think I'd prefer to just grind the hub itself.

Anyone got any tips advice or pics of the re-spaced hubs?

  • I've had a thought, would like to know your opinions on it.

I'd like to get a set of 28h 120mm dura-ace hubs, to which i'd cold set my 110mm frame so they fit. Would I encounter problems with my chainline? I'm pretty sure I wouldn't as the actual hub shell, cog and lockring are all the same size surely?

  • C'mon! Anyone?

  • the chainline will not change at all as the hub sits in the same spot all the time providing the frame is pulled apart evenly

    thanks!
