Hi Mate,
Cheers
It weighs around 21 pounds, so heavy by todays standards, but it's a pleasure to ride. I have a Kuota Kebal with full Dura ace but I much prefer to ride the Banana. Very responsive and feels part of you, some modern carbon bikes I have ridden feel a bit dull. I have not seen another Banana 753 since the 80's when the pros used them. They are ultra rare, only did 753 team issue so not may built in the first place (Guess 30 ) the team only ran for a couple of seasons first seasons rode Dura ace equipped 753 bikes then went on to use C Record 753 bikes. A C record equiped Banana would be something else! -

Top marks for preserving!
Got a soft spot for the Banana, I too had a gaspipe version. That said it was a joy to ride. Saw one whilst out on a ride to Tatton park today.

There is a period NOS Dura Ace seat post on E bay for £120. Also you missed the Ultegra front mech again there is a Dura ace one on E bay for £60. Seems a bargain compared to the NOS Dura ace rear mech in box I saw the other week for £250. Donations gratefully accepted!

Yes agreed a spanking example of a 753 Banana frame. If only I could get one in Australia..or 531 perhaps. The Aussies sell gaspipes for too much and not my size (58cm)

Hi, I am the current owner of this brilliant Banana team bike. The frame number has been revealed to show DR 1 88 indicating it was indeed Dave Rayners 88 race bike. I have upgraded the front mech to dura ace and bought some spare tubs also. Unfortunately I am needing to make room as have too many bikes after a bit of a buying binge this year so is for sale on eBay at the moment but would be happy to sell on here.
Karl
EX pro bike Used in 88 by the late Dave Rayner. Believe this was the bike he rode to young rider award in the Milk Race. Restored with NOS dura Ace
